I have dell inspiron 1525.I am from India. I have two problems. First I have a sim card slot in my laptop and ai don't know how to activate it. My other problem is serious one. My laptop unexpectedly...

Dell has a series of tests for a system's hardware called the PSA+ Diagnostics. You can run these tests by performing one of the following actions:
  • Hold down the key while pressing the power button.
  • Turn on the system, press at the initial Dellâ„¢ logo screen, and select Diagnostics from the boot menu.
  • Disconnect the AC power and remove the battery. While holding down the power button, insert the AC connector into the back of the system. The system then starts and the message Diagnostic boot selected displays. The system then launches the PSA+ Diagnostics.
  • As for the laptop shutting down, that usually indicates your CPU (Central Processing Chip) is overheating. This is caused by dust or defective CPU fan or heat-sink.

Hi. i got a dell inspiron n4010 laptop. my battery backup suddenly dropped to half. i bought the laptop just 25 days ago. what may be its cause?

I am glad to HELP YOU!

The problem that are you describing here occurs many times - even for the BRAND NEW laptops!
The RAPID DRAINAGE of the batteries can have multiple causes:
# a defective battery
# the humidity of the storage place
# a bad connector
and so on.
What I'd suggest you is to take back your machine to the store and to ask for a BATTERY REPLACEMENT. I assume that if you said you've bought your Dell 25 days ago it should be under some WARRANTY CONDITIONS...
The next battery you will gt do like this:
# attach the battery into its slot
# make sure your Dell machine is OFF
# connect the AC power supply into the wall plug
# with the machine still OFF let the battery fully charge for AT LEAST 16 HOURS.

My best regards!
... and don't forget to RATE, please...

Dell 6000 power problem?

Troubleshooting a power problem is fairly simple:
1 Try a different AC adapter, see if there is any change 2 If system will not power on with a known good or new AC adapter, then the power connection on the motherboard is likely damaged and the motherboard will need to be replaced.

My Dell Inspiron 6000 works fine on AC, but will not charge

Hi,
As a first step, Try reseating the battery on the laptop and see if the problem is resolved.
If not working, then try flashing the BIOS on the laptop.

1. GO to support.dell.com
2. Click on "Drivers & Downloads"
3. Either select your System model or enter your the service tag of the computer.
4. Under the "BIOS" section., you will find an option to download the BIOS.
5. Save it to your system., and just double click it, to install.

-> Make sure that the system is not turned off while Updating the BIOS...

Dell inspiron 1501

Hi there
Take the battery out and start the laptop up on AC power only, set the correct date, time and time zone, shut down the PC and remove the power jack, wait about 30 seconds then power it up on AC only again, If the date and time has changed the the cmos battery has run out and needs replacing. If it keeps date and time the problem is the battery or the powerboard controller that charges the battery is defective. If the battery is getting a charge, run the battery completely out of charge, then try to charge it again.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
