Hello,

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER
HOPE THIS WILL HELP TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.....

If this is a pencil thin line you have a bad plasma panel. The plasma panel is no longer available.

How to set up the colour on my Panasonic Viera TV

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/TH42PZ80U.PDF

Here is a copy of your users manual, it tells you how to adjust the color on the TV, Magnets do not affect Plasma TV's. If your picture looks bad you might have a defective or failing part if you just need to turn the red up or down or make the picture more blue or green the users manual tells you how to adjust it.

My panasonic viera tv suddently is not picking up

The most common reason for a digital TV to read "No Signal," or to constantly suffer from frozen screens is poor cable connections. First thing you want to do is to check to make sure they are all correct, and that you are using cables rated for your system. Next is that you want to remember that the fewer lines you use, the stronger your connection will be. If your connections are all good, check to see if you are using splitters. Imagine your cables are actually water lines. It would be easy to see how thin your flow will be if you have a half a different different directions and lines through which you are forcing it to flow. If you can limit the number of lines you have connected, then your signal will be stronger. There are often a number of different ways to wire a sound system and peripheral components to your home theater. Sit down and review it. Anyplace you can eliminate a line (or mess of lines!), the stronger your signal will ultimately be when it gets to your TV's receiver.

If you are using cable and none of this works, chances are you have a "leak" in your line somewhere which needs to be reviewed by your provider. Be sure to remove all splitters and all such diverting sources before they arrive, though, as if the problem is found indoors, you will very likely be charged for this as a service call.

Panasonic viera with vertical lines down the screen which change colour randomly

Either the buffer board is bad or the plasma panel, sometimes it coult be bad connections on the interconnect ribbon cables from the plasma panel to the buffer boards.
