Shutter speed

Like most point&shoot cameras, the A3100 does not give you direct control over the shutter speed. You're expected to just point the camera and shoot, without worrying about such niggling details.

You can gain some control over the shutter speed by changing the scene mode. For example, portrait mode attempts to reduce the depth of field by opening the aperture, which results in a faster shutter speed. Conversely, landscape mode attempts to increase the depth of field by closing the aperture, which results in a slower shutter speed.

I have a fujifilm finepix z35 camera and i need to access the depth of focus and shutter speed settings for a project for college but I don't know how to do this. Does anyone know?

Like most point&shoot cameras the Z35 doesn't give you much direct control over "minor" things like aperture and shutter speed. It's designed for you to simply point and shoot.

You have some control however, by selecting a scene mode. Portrait mode, for example, will attempt to open up the aperture to minimize depth of field, which tends to result in a faster shutter speed. Landscape mode, on the other hand, will attempt to close down the aperture to maximize depth of field, resulting in a slower shutter speed.

My dept finder reads gives me the wrong depth. Is there a way to calibrate this. I doint know the modle off hand. It is the one that gives you two side views and stright dowm. It has the temp. and speed.

If your depth is off because of where your transducer is located, calibration can be done through the menu by adding or subtracting a foot or two.  In your never to be read manual are all the instructions necessary.  If you are off by more than a foot or 2, chances are your transducer is bad.

http://www.humminbird.com/support/ProductManuals.aspx should allow you to download the manual for free and even step you through some troubleshooting.

The unit constantly freezes up. Suction is at 85, liquid is at 285, suction line temp is 52. Ambient 85, while inside is at 85-88. Only 1-2 degrees of superheat. Taking refrigerant out lowers line temp...

Has anyone added refrigerant? If there was a blockage I would think the suction pressure would be lower. Are you sure it isn't just overcharged. If you take the ambient and add 20F that would give you a condensing temperature of 105 which gives you a pressure of about 210# on the high side and something to shoot for. I don't know if this helps you. Also, the numbers I listed are for R22. You didn't mention what type is in the unit.

My depth finder loses its depth reading at about

You need to set the transducer lower. When at speed, the hull of the ship raises up out of the water and hence your transducer is probably not deep enough at these times to give a proper reading.

How do i get a reading just for speed and depth on

If you have no chart card for your local area, you definitely need one! As far as getting various data on the screen, as long as it is available on the system, you can display different kinds of data by pressing the "data" button and then following the steps to add data to your readout.
