When should I replace my backup battery?

Apparently the battery is Circuit Board mounted and is a backup memory battery.

Li (lithium) battery • The Li battery is mounted on the printed circuit board in the data processing unit "QM-Data". Do not dispose of the data processing unit by burning it. If the data processing unit is thrown into fire, the battery may leak chemicals, burst, or burn violently. Comply with government regulations regarding the disposal method.

• This error message indicates that the memory backup battery is low, and that if you continue to use the data processing unit "QM-Data", backup will not be performed. Save the part programs and measured data stored in the internal memory of the data processing unit to the floppy disk or to a personal computer. • Contact your supplier to replace the battery.

It also says changing the battery removes any saved data.

So if you are looking to do it yourself, look for screws to get inside.

The backup battery that help the system keypad/receiver unit to operate it is low in power and it is dying and in need of a new battery replacement.Traced the system back where main junktion and overide to the system box unit is should have the battery there.This battery really easy to do a replacement.The battery it is like a similar to a motor cycle battery.

You must disasemble de unit. There is a Ni-Mh 3.6v 15mAh batery inside at the bottom of the unit.

This may happens sometime with charger ,as i have the same problem and i replace the charger---i shown the mbile HTC authorised center

Hi. Actually, on pocket pcs there's a backup battery onboard, but in your case maybe backup battery is dead. So you can have that changed or you can charge your PDA on regular basis. Hope this helps.

I recommed that you bring your Imate PDA to a service technician to check further the error. It is not a good sign, especially if there is a problem with the back up battery.

The h5450 comes with what HP calls a backup battery. It is built into the device and not accessible by the user. Click the "Advanced" button and place a check next to "Enable suspend while on External power. 6. Click OK to close the Advanced Setting window and click OK to close the MobilePro Settings. 7. Turn unit over and momentarily depress the Reset button using the stylus. NOTE: Both the software update and power management settings are cleared on a hard reset and must be re-applied.
