Try unpluging the oven for about 5 minutes and then plug it back in. It should reset itself.

Same symptoms - did not reset - stays in self clean mode. NOT the 'clean' switch on control panel (that is working). Not the 'countdown timer' we ran the clean for 3 hrs (the minimum) and after zero - it continued to keep the flame high.

My oven is self-cleaning mode...it is beeping and flashing f-2. How do I stop or reset?

If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred: Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature.

F2 error code while in self-cleaning mode

Hi

F2 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

GE wall oven was in self clean mode and suddenly an F2 error keeps beeping. It also flashes looked door - please help

Those are error codes which are listed in your owners manual. If you do not have the manual go to the GE web site, customer support section.

Tried to do self cleaning on oven, about 10 minutes in got "f2 locked door" and it won't clean. what is that all about?

Error code F2 on clean cycle is indicating that the maximum permissable cleaning temperature has been exceeded. (or it's got too hot!)

However it seems unlikely that that would happen in just 10 mins. more likely it is a problem with the oven temperature sensor which should be checked over as should the lock switches..

I'm getting a F2 Error and door locked with flashing and beeping after I ran the self-cleaning mode on my GE Model JTP85 built-in oven.

f 2 code states that your oven temp exceeds 590 w/unlocked door .. the oven tempt sensor will need to be replaced .. hope this helped mm

F2 message when self cleaning

I have the exact problem, had a service man look at it while still under warranty. He said it was fixed and left. Tried it again, same problem. Called him back 2 times after that, he quit responding to my calls. By tyhen warranty expired and GE refused to do anything.
