Started with watching a movie and it would just shut off and a red light would start flashing. It would work for a bit if we unplugged it and let it sit for a few minutes. Now it shuts off right away and the red light flashes and we are not able to do anything.

This sounds like a serious problem and I'm very sorry you've come across it. I have an Xbox 360 which is known for red lights. lol. The absolute best way to handle this would be to call Sony PlayStation Customer Support, instead of looking up answers on the computer and trying to take it in your own hands. If you still have a warranty you can send for a PS3 coffen and have it sent in for free repair.
Its probably an indicator that their is dust build-up, or over heating so it shuts itself off. Clever what sony did because with xbox 360's they don't, they keep running until it probably melts the internal hardware. Well hell I wouldn't know I just read that from some other opinion. But yeah just wait a bit for it to cool down or spray your ps3 with compressed air for dust.
Hi, this is a power board issue. remove the cover and make sure that this unit doesn'thave blow fuse. if the fuse is fine, you will then need to replace the integrated power/ main board.
Firstly, unplug your tv for at least 4 hours. Over night is better. This is what we call a Hard or Master Reset. This should solve your problem. If by chance it doesn't, then more than likely your power supply board is shot. Very common in the newer tv's
For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,
Dan
