All the ignitors simultaneously popping unless unplugged

Usually this is from moisture getting into a spark ignitor switch, which is located under your burner knobs. A pan boiling over, someone cleaning your cooktop and using a sprayer, too much water on a sponge, very high humidity, can all get moisture into a switch. Recommend you unplug your cooktop for a few days and see if your switch dries out. Plug it back in an see if it works properly again. If it doesn't then you will have to replace one, or all of the switches, depending if they come seperately or in a set. This entails removing the top of the cooktop, which can be very difficult if not impossible in some cases. Heat and corrosion go together, so in just a few years the screws or nuts that hold the burners down onto the cooktop are so corroded that you cannot remove them without chiseling the nuts off or drilling out the screws, which then damages the burner bodies underneath. Can make it unrepairable in some cases. Drying the unit out works about 80% of the time. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

the lock light is blinking, the door is locked, everything is turned off, and the temperature is definetely below 490. We cannot get the door to open. I have a E36DF76EPS model

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The locking of the oven is a safety measure while self clean function is activated. Once the oven has completed the cycle & has cooled down, then it will reset the door lock.

If a self clean oven door lock fails to open after the self clean cycle and sufficient cooling time has elapsed (approximately 1 hour), there are several things you can try.
  1. Unplug the unit or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the unit back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
  2. Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
If these procedures fail to correct the condition or you were not using the self clean cycle, then, the lock must usually be accessed and moved manually to open the door—

In order to open the door you have to open the control panel and remove the door lock.

Remove the three screws from the bottom of the control panel. You'll heed a 1/4" open wrench. Pull the bottom of the control panel toward yourself and push it up to release from the upper tabs.
The door lock is secured by the three screws.

Downdraft vent unit is stuck halfway.

You'll have to remove it and manually reverse the drive gear. Hopefully, it didn't get stripped.

Ingiters don't work - all burners

Unplug cook top. remove drip pan with screwdriver. Use hair dryer to completely dry area that might have gotten wet during cleaning. This may take five minutes. Put unit back together and plug in cook top.
