DIY: How to repair rotten door jamb

I have found that the back door of my garage had a rotten door jamb. I thought I had bad luck but later found out that it is not uncommon. I had searched YouTube and got some tips how to fix it by myself. Here is what I have done. Hope it can help others who have similar problem.

i have a chamberlain 5580 operator it sounds like motors jambed

If the motor is stuck in the open position the trolley may be jammed against a bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so, loosen the chain enough that the tension is taken off the trolley and then run the opener until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover and then tighten the chain.

If the door is not in the open position you may have a bad start capacitor.

no power windows door locks interior lights or key chimes

try checking the pin switches in the door jambs if you have no power to these items with the door open i would lean toward the pin switches being stuck or bad ground or broken not an uncommon problem
