Tip & How-To about Lands Phones

Telephone jack wiring

Most cheap jacks have 4 wires, red, green, yellow & black. Most modern houses have wires paired up (twisted pair) like blue & white with blue line or stripe. Line 1 is red/green or blue/white. Line 2 is yellow/black or orange/white(with orange line/stripe).

Need manual for wiring phones

The 612 system required 3 pairs per phone. Every 3 pairs on the 25 pair cable would be one station. A modern 6 conductor jack would be wired according to the label. If you have jacks with Green,Red,Black,Yellow,White, and Blue wires, then it's wired as follows.
W/Bl - Green
Bl/W - Red
W/Or - Black
Or/W - Yellow
W/Gr - White
Gr/W - Blue

i have a cat5e wall plate(tph552) a cat5e wire4 colors don't match and 4 colors do ( brown,orange,blue,green,) are ok then wire has 4 that are white with (brown,orange,green,blue,)stripe. and wall plate has (red,black,yellow,white)

The wires/colors in a category 5e cable run in pairs. They should be tightly twisted together, mostly white with a blue tracer. mostly blue with a white tracer- mostly white with an orange tracer- mostly orange with a white tracer, mostly white with a green tracer- mostly green with a whte tracer, and mostly white with a brown tracer- mostly brown with a white tracer. The jack you have sounds like a standard telephone or cat. 3 jack. If the jack is being used for a standard telephone line, you'll need to connect one of the wire pairs(usually the white/blue pair) to the green and red terminals on the jack.Make sure that the same pair is also terminated at the main telephone junction.

wireing

3-pair version of (red/green, black/yellow, white/blue). But the first two pairs are not twisted
So it becomes green/red, yellow/black, & white-black/blue. G1/ R2 /3Y /4B /5*Blk/6Blue (this is what you physically see on the other RJ11 connections since this is a data connection and not a phone connection it should be a straight-through instead of cross-over connection.
These RJ 11 PINOUT assignments may be incorrect because they apply to a color camera instead of B/W

RJ11-e starts off like a RJ45 Stranded Patch Cable.
The color code used in stranded patch cables is different from solid-conductor cables. For NorTel Digital Patch Cable (DPC), the coding is; Pair 1: Green & RedPair 2: Yellow & BlackPair 3: Blue & *Orange White\Black
*In Pair 3 the color coding is Blue & Black instead of Blue & Orange and the pair is twisted so that the Blue wire is the 6th pin instead of the 5th pin.

RJ-45 Pins are with the spring tab down and read left to right. Do you have an RJ-45 Crimping tool?
Just use 568-B or 568-A on both ends of the same cable.
