Dust on lens. I've fixed all my DVDs like this (apart from a couple that were truly broke). You need a little confidence for this, it involves getting into machine to get to lens. With the lid off, you need to switch machine on to get tray out, then unplug to prevent shock. With a cotton bud Q tips I think they're called, gently place cotton end onto lens rolling it couple of times. Gently !!!
Reassemble machine and plug back in. Try a disc, making sure the disc isn't a corrupted rewrite or a scratched disc or a greasy dirty disc or even a diffent region disc.
Buy a lens cleaner made by TDK or others. If you can see the picture from the lens cleaner disk The lens is clean but your semiconductor chipset can not read the dvd reflections because it overheated. Use it more often with the lens cleaner, the chipset damaged by humidity may dry up and work perfectly again.
Hi, Unfortunately , Some DVD players cant read some DVD s and then it gives either "loading" or " no disc"..reading on the display... it generally happens when you want to play "A copied DVD/CD " taken from somewhere else.. Just
to make sure that such DVD is ok ,you can try to run them on your
laptop. If the disc itself has problem, laptop does not read either.. Since you have not stated,if it is an old player pls Clean your DVD player's LASER lens anyway .. A clean DVD player Lens ensures that
your DVD disc would be read properly. Unfortunately, your DVD player's
Lens accumulate as much dust and lint as the other parts of the DVD
player. There are many available DVD lens cleaner kits
that you can purchase and use to clean your DVD player.
YOUR DVD disc itself should be clean and finger prints free as well.... Here are three suggested DVD Lens Cleaner that should do the job of cleaning your DVD Player's lens. Memorex Laser Lens Cleaner for DVD

Hello. The problem is not in your television. It is in the DVD player, your player did not read the cd because, either your cd or the lens player is dirty. Now,try to clean the cd first then insert,if the "no disc "appear again try to clean the lens of your player using lens cleaner. Then if the cd and the lens is clean it may play. Thanks
When the unit does not load any disk, that is usually because of a problem with the optical laser lens that is dirty, faulty or opaque, and will start operating on certain disks better than others.
In that case you will hear disk spinning, whirring and clicking, but the TOC (table of content track at start of CD/DVD will not be read, therefore the error.
Whe this problem is starting you may be able to read only CD, DVD or Blue ray, or for example only DVD-R and not +R , or only to read and not to write and so on. After more prolonged usage , often the unit goes losing the rest of functions, and ends up not reading anything at all.
If instead there is no noise, and disk does not spin at all , then there is a faulty motor, or the motor micro-switch is bad. This situation is far less common than the lens problem.
Try first using a CD/DVD or Blue ray lens cleaner disk to clean the lens. If that does not work you will need to disassemble the drive , and clean lens directly with q tips and isopropyl alcohol, or to replace the CD/DVD lens, or the whole drive unit.
