Tip & How-To about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer

Cheap cleaning technique

This works on all washing machines and can be done every few months. Not only will it extend the life of your machine but if will make you clothes come out smelling a bit better and looking a bit cleaner.

There are lots of products out there that you can buy that will clean your washing machine out. They range in price from 10 to 30 dollars and with our economy where it is now no one wants to spend that on a cleaning product.

What you can do that works just the same is to use a cup of white vinegar. Pour it in the drum, in the bleach dispenser, and in the soap and fabric softener area. Run the washing machine on hot water extra large load with no clothes of course. The vinegar will break down any hard water deposits in the hoses or in the drum holes. It will extend the life of the hoses, the pump, the gaskets, and the overall life of the washer.

You can also do this on your dishwasher if you have one. It will do the same thing.

Soap residue on clothes from washing machine

I have the same problem. Can't get soap out my clothes. I have a Sears Kenmore frontload washer. It seems to work fine but something isn't right. Repair man came few days ago & said NOT to use the brands they say "For ALL HE Washers" ALL being the key word. Only use the ones that only say HE. I changed back to Gain instead of Sam's brand, but I still can't get soap out. I really don't think its the detergent. I washed my daughters towels & had soap in clothes after complete full wash was done. I'm lost & have no idea what the problem is or how long its being going on before I noticed.

Goes through washing cycle but doesn't dissolve the tablets or cleans the clothes.

Clean out your outlet filter; this is to be done regularly once a month, depending on your usage. Re your tablets not disolving, try using front loading washing powder. Also refer to your manual..........
