Tip & How-To about Epson Stylus C46 InkJet Printer

C46 Squeeling Noise

All printers are greased on all moving parts apart from where the paper has to pass, as they don't want grease to get on your paper. That is why a lot of printers squeel, it's because some rollers are not lubricated. Particularly the final roller on the Epson C46. You can see this roller by looking through the paper exit tray (where the paper comes out). It is usually black in colour and has 9 bearing points which are just plastic against plastic and these rub together causing plastic dust to be created and this is what causes the squeeling.
Simply dab a tiny smear of grease or oil on the top of each bearing point (each is open at the top) and your noisy printer will become a quiet printer.
Please note that 8 of the bearing points are easily accessible, but the 9th being the far left one as you look in from the front and is about a half inch behind a grey plastic side wall. You can get to it with a small flat head screwdriver, so use one of these to apply the oil or grease.
Please be careful to only use a tiny smear of lubricant or the excess will drip or fall on your paper exit tray and ruin your paper.

my printer prints some matter and then gives message for paper jam

Hi Mr. Khan

This is a problem with the carriage rod. Try to lubricate the rod with a little silicon grease to make it move freely. Normally it happens after some usage that the grease provided on the rod by the company dries up. Do not put more grease as it may drop on the circuit boards.

What does Service error 5100 mean?

5100 error means either something is stopping the carriage from moving back and forth properly, or there is grease or ink on the encoder strip, the clear strip behind the carriage that runs across behind the carriage assembly. If it's grease you can clean it with a Q-tip and alcohol very carefully. If it's paper scraps, unplug the printer with the carriage in the center and look to the extreme right and left for paper scraps.

kango 950k

it sounds like it needs service, service is taking lower unit apart cleaning and regrease with special kango grease, if unit was serviced recently or not used much, grease could be real old and dry, sometimes you have to warm up unit before they start hitting correctly,,also if used a lot could be dirt build up,inside bit holder.remove bit holder clean out dirt regrease with heavy bearing grease, just grease the lower part, not very much grease is needed

paper not moving forward

please confirm that nothing droped inside in your printer (pins-stapler-small pieces of torn paper)-double a piece of paper roll and try to insert it while you press paper feed button to remove any object in paper path- apply light grease in gears and test your calculator.if the problem exist pass it to service center.
