If theres a pattern for the time then it has a timer run time set. If no pattern the unit has activated either the temp sensor and/or the low battery voltage sensor. Check your owners manual how to deactivate.
Viper alarm keeps starting truck by itself
you have timer mode set. Check the time because there will be a pattern. Typically every 3 hours OR there is an automatic timer that will start based on the outside temp. sensor and theres one that monitors battery voltage and if the voltage drops to a low enough voltage the remote start will start.

When I try and arm my viper system it tells me it
That's what its supposed to do on the 2way remote. You would have recieved a 2 way and a 1way remote. The 2 way will chirp when it recieves a signal, whereas the 1way will not.On the back of both remotes it will notate 2way or 1way.cheers!!
I have misplaced my remote
If you know its at home or near there. Lock/arm the security system from the 1way remote and then set the alarm off either by opening door with the KEY or hitting the car to set off the shock sensor. The 2way remote will start making lots of noise AS THE ALARM IS GOING OFF. Now if you lost the 1way remote, there is really no easy solution except your eyes.cheers!!
Hey I have a viper
Hello,
You put the key in the ignition position (2 clicks) then press the valet button. The alarm will still blare but you can start the car. Once you start the car the siren will stop. There's a time limit on this though, of about 5 seconds after the alarm first goes off.
Other say:
Turn Ignition ON
Press Valet Switch for apprx
2 - 5 seconds, L.E.D. Light should be solid ON.
Turn Ignition OFF
Alarm should be in Valet

I have the viper 5701
The flashing parking lights signal a shutdown diagnostic. There is a nuetral safety switch under the dash. It's a toggle switch that needs to be in the on position. Also, the hood pin needs to be making contact with the hood when the hood is closed.
Hi. I have a Viper
Open door, turn ignition on then off. Press aand hold programming button until you hear one chirp. After you hear the chirp, release programming button, press and release button one then press and hold. You will hear one chirp. While holding the programming button, press lock button on remote to change option. One chirp is active arming(what you currently have), Two chirps is passive arming without locks, Three chirps is passive arming with locks. Turn ignition on to exit programming. Test system.
My viper remote worked perfect,
The issue is not with the remote as you have stated the vehicle attempts to start. The issue may be with an immobilizer bypass module but, I can't say for sure because you mention the year/make/model of the vehicle. Usually the vehicle will give you visual reason for the failed attempt( the lights will flash a set number of times). But, in any event, the issue is not with the remote and more information is required to assist you.
I have one control only
You might have to re-learn the remote to the system. Assuming you've already made sure the battery in the remote is not dead (if you still have lights on the left side of the remote when you press a button, then the battery should be fine and your car just isn't getting a signal from the remote).
Step 1. If the battery is good, here's how you reprogram the remote. First, open the driver's door, the day must stay opened during the programming process.
Step 2. Turn the key to the on position.
Step 3. Within 10 seconds press the valet button once and release it, then press 1 more time and hold it. (the valet button located on the antenna/LED "control center" most likely attached to the top edge of your windshield by the rearview mirror.
Step 4. Press the lock button once on the remote. You should hear a confirmation chirp from the siren letting you know it has learned the remote. At this point you can release the valet button.
Step 5. Remove your key, close the door and test lock/unlock, start and stop functions.
You should be fine at this point, if the system is still not working there is another problem with the system that would need clarification to pinpoint.
My viper 5701 transponder gives error code of five
Five blinks of the parking lights during remote starter operation is an error code for the (+) brake shutdown. If your foot is not on the brake then, there is an issue with your brake switch or your parking lights and brake lights wires are making contact, possibly in one of the front or rear light housings. Corrosion maybe.
