To program this remote-

1) Open hood or ground GREY wire @ pin #7 on 12 pin connector coming from Crimestopper control module usually located under dash.

2) Turn key to on position.

3) Press red programming button coming from module 4 times, after a few seconds the parking lights on vehicle should flash 4 times.

4) Press button #1 pause, #2 pause, #3 pause, #4 pause on the remote you are programming, the lights should flash after ever button push. After all four codes (buttons) are learned, the unit will exit code learning mode. If not, turn off key and close hood. Hope this helps......BUZZ

I've never seen a remote repaired successfully. I'm not sure why, it just doesn't seem to work. I wonder if the circuit board isn't flexing a little bit, and that dislodges the battery retainer. The flexing, in turn, might also cause microscopic cracks in the circuit board which causes it to work intermittantly.

2005 malibu remote starter (factory installed) does not work. Lights flash but car will not start. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the brain quit on you, I would uninstall it or completly disconnect it and have it looked at. Make sure you reconnect the factory wires and start over. Also check the ground for the alarm as it will draw current from what ever wire it can and cause all kinds of things.

I am almost positve that your 2000 intrepid has one wire door locks, meaning there is one wire that goes to the factory lock module and is hit with different resistance values for lock and unlock. this is tricky. you have to find out what the two different resistance values are, and use two resistors inbetween the alarms lock wires, and the wire you hook to in the car. Stop by your nearest best buy, the guys in the install bay will probaly look up the info for you. I know I would at my shop.

No. The keyless entry system won't have anything to do with it, unless it is set up for ignition defeat, wich is uncommon.
