If you are charging the phone the SD will become unavailable. I heard it is only if using a 3rd party charger, but it also happens if you are connected to a computer via USB.

If this is not the case, it could be a formatting issue with the SD card.

To remove the card,hold the phone in landscape orientation, slide open the keyboard and you will see a little tab on the device (not on the slide part) to the right of the keyboard pad, near the bottom... open the tab with your fingernail and then you can push in the sd card to get it to release... make sure you unmount it in 'settings/sd card and internal storage' BEFORE you take the card out or you risk corrupting the info on the card...

Your charging port is probably bad. It is a common issue. You can take it into an electronics shop and they could fix it by sending it to the manufacturer, but it might cost more than a new phone like the HTC incredible

To do this, press HOME > MENU > Settings > Wireless controls > Mobile networks, then select the Prefer 2G networks option. • When your G1 is not in use, press END CALL/POWER to switch off the screen. • Select a shorter idle time before the phone screen switches off and lower the screen brightness. Here's what you need to do:

• Open the default messaging app
• Press the "Menu" on the G1
• Select "Settings"
• Scroll down the page until you see "Notifications"
• Make sure Notifications is checked
• Select "Notification settings"
• "Select Ringtone"

How to Update G1 Phone Firmware RC33

1. Download RC33 update from Google here.

2. Rename the download file from signed-PLAT-RC33-from-RC30.f06aa9b3.zip to update.zip, and place it at the root i.e the very top directory of your Micro SD card. (If you added the file to your microSD card by connecting the handset to your computer via USB [rather than using a dedicated microSD card reader], make sure to unmount it and disconnect the USB cable now.

3. Turn off your G1 Make sure it's completely powered off. Now again turn it on by holding the Home+End keys until you see T-Mobile G1 logo.

4. From the icon screen, open the keyboard and hit Alt+L.

5. Press Alt+S to begin the update. Remember, the update needs to be in the root of the Micro SD card and needs to be named update.zip.

6. Once it finishes, follow the onscreen instructions and press Home+Back to finish.

7. G1 Phone will reboot a few times to flash different parts of the firmware.

If all went well, you should now be running the latest update, RC33. Enjoy your new, shiny RC33 update, complete with Google Latitude!

To make sure all your hard work wasn't for nothing, hit Menu > Settings > About Phone > scroll to Build Number. You should see RC33 in there somewhere.

you may need to flash it with your tmobile provider rom to get it working again, if you have only had it three days then take it back to the shop

try pulling the battery out and starting it up again. you may have damaged the cable going from the part with the keyboard to the screen. this has happaned to me on a g1 you may be able to find some one on craigslist who is willing to repair this for you cheaply. goodluck...ps call tmobile and see if they will send you a replacement.

You can download an app from the Android Market called Apps2SD that will let you do that.

A request for a PUK code ("Personal Unlocking Key") will appear on your phone if your SIM card PIN code is entered 3 consecutive times incorrectly.

Your SIM card will then become "PUKed" or Blocked. This is a security measure to protect your service.
