Nec etw 8-2 wont work at home?

Sorry, but there is no way to get this phone to work on your normal residential phone jack. It was designed to be used as part of a key system, which requires the control system (also called the KSU). The phones are a proprietary digital design and only work when attached to the proper KSU. Unless you want to try locating the rest of the system on eBay or purchase through some other vendor, all you can do with the phone is use it as a paperweight.

Connect/Program Headset

Sure you can do it. as long as the headset has a plug for the handset your fine. Plug it in and you will have to pick up and hang up the handset as needed. The headset key eliminates you having to pick up and hang up the handset to answer with the headset.

Change/reprogram extensions

The easiest way to do this is move the cross connect in the closet. Get the jack number from each location and swapped the cross connect(wire). You could change the extension number in MB4-10 but it depends on the type of system you have.

Speakerphone does not work

Try pressing the Feature button and dialing the digit 1. This will turn the microphone on and the MIC lite should turn red. Don't lift the handset or press Speaker, just press Feature 1. This will also turn the MIC off if you want it disabled again.
