Get a recharge cord for the unit, plug it in and recharge.

Most of them came with a AC and Dc cord to charge them

Take it apart. The battery inside has corroded the wires at the terminals. Replace ends clean and put protector spray on them.

If you take the box apart - if you're able to easily remove the cable you want to replace - you can go to any automotive parts store and get a foot or two of the same gauge/color wire - and just remove your clamp and install on the new wire. Probably a 8 gauge or so - if you take the cable in and show them what you need they should be able to give you the pieces for less than $15 - you could also just buy a cheap set of jumper cables and use whichever lead you need - and you'd have 3 more leads to use down the road.

Check you cable wires at post and clean, check whole wire for break

Should have been a patch cord that connects directly to the unit and to 110 volt plug for charging the unit back up. There's a built in convertor that does the re-charge. Find that cord or purchase one from where you got the unit.

the internal battery is dead or can't hold a charge... it's like a car battery, but the acid is in a gel form instead of liquid. they'll eventually die if you don't keep it charged up every 6 months

just make sure the specs for the replacement plug is correct: AC ADAPTER input: 110-115V 60Hz output: 12V 500mA pin size that plugs into the unit ~ 9mm or a bit tad over 3/16" with that adaptor, it takes up to 36 hours to charge it up to FULL with a comparable DC adapter, it takes only 8-10 hours

The gell cell battery inside needs replacing.

Contact manufacturer. If still under warranty they should replace. Sounds like the internal battery is dead...there has to be a little "juice" left in the battery for the charger to have a complete circuit to charge...some of these units take 24 or more hours on an initial charge. The Jump Start replaces another vehicle when jump starting. Make sure unit is fully charged. If you need a jump start because of a dead battery in your car, connect Red lead to + battery post on your dead battery and Black lead form jump start to - battery post on dead battery. Turn unit on and start vehicle.

Try replacing the battery.
