NorStar M7208 Corded Phone - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Norstar meridian 7208 won't ring.
Does it ring when you move it to a known ringing port? Is it programmed to ring (Terminals & Sets) Appear and Ring? Do you have Automatic Set Relocation turned on so the extension number stays with the phone?
There are a lot of features to check for ringing, including the volume of the set.

Stuck on mute!
When I make
i would open it up and spray a little contact cleaner on that mute button in the inside part of the button and the contact it goes to. even a tiny bit of carbon can jack those up
The phone will not allow
Your telephone technician would have to issue you this access since it's a setting at the main telephone switch.
Cannot get the pulse tone
In guessing that since your lines have defaulted to pulse dialing that you have an older Nortel system such as an 8x24 or a 6x16 system. That being said you'll need to program touch tone dialing on each line.
Programming is done on M7310, M7324 and T7316 sets.
To set up ringing you need to enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.

4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming
Press the show key (top right arrow)
the display will say1. trunk/line data
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
the display will say line 001.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
the display trunk data
press the show key (top right arrow)
Press the next key 7 times(bottom right arrow) .
The display should say Dial mode: pulse.
Press the Change soft key (below the display).
the display should now say tone.
press the heading key (top left arrow) to get back to "trunk/line data"
repeat the steps for the remainder of your active lines
press Rls when finished
Employee left , new employee cannot receive
To reset your voice mail password, press feature 983
the screen should say log:
enter 1020000 (default password) if you have a 3 digit intercom number, 120000 if you have a 2 digit intercom number
the display should say mbox, AA, and othr above the three soft keys
press the mbox soft key
the screen should say add, del, and chng above the soft keys
press the chng soft key
enter in the mailbox number you wish to reset the password on
press ok
the screen should say reset and next above the soft keys
press the reset soft key
your password will be reset to 0000
press the next key till you see the ext/name info.(about the second or third "next"
press the CHNG key and enter in your first and last name
the # key advances you one space press it twice to enter in the comma between the first and last name.
press the Rls key when finished
Need directions for recording the greeting on the
To enter voicemail administration, press Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your default password is 120000 if your system has 3 digit intercom #s your default password is 1020000. Once you have entered the password you will see 3 selections you can make .Use the three soft keys under the display and select AA (auto Attendant). Next, press greeting and greeting again. Next, it'll ask for the greeting number your probably working with greeting 1. Press record to start and ok when finished. dont forget to save the greeting or it will be deleted if you exit early. hang up when finished
I am trying to change
Try this:
Press "Feature * * 266344"
At the password prompt, press "23646"
This should bring you to the Terminals and Sets menu and you can enter the extension number and change the Set Name.
