Jazzy Select 6 Indoor Power Wheelchair: how to charge...
The Jazzy Select 6 requires an off-board charger. Plug the charger into a grounded outlet; preferably one that doesn't have other large loads on the circuit like refrigerator, freezer, microwave, etc. The male 3-prong XLR connector coming off the other end of the charger plugs into a female XLR connector which is on the joystick control's bottom-rear. Charge it overnight after each days use, and at least once each month overnight. You should get 2-4 hours of use from the chair at top speed with a 200 pound driver, depending on terrain and climate. If it isn't holding a charge, you will probably need two new U-1 type gel sealed batteries that run about $120.00 or so each. Make sure you test the old batteries first at a knowledgeable battery shop. These are deep cycle batteries and require a special testing. If the batteries are good, then your charger isn't charging. Search EBay or other online sites for a wheelchair charger in the 4-6 amp range. They can be found for about $45.00 or so. Pride will charge you a lot more.
The battery charger does not work. The red light

Check your freewheel levers. They must be engaged or the lights will flash and the chair will be inoperable. These levers are under the shroud behind drive wheels. (One on each side)

Somehow I have locked my Jazzy 6 Select Electric
Try This:
To unlock the power chair.
1. Use the on / off button to switch the control system on. The maximum speed / profile indicator will be rippling up and down.
2. Deflect the joystick forward until the control system beeps.
3. Deflect the joystick in reverse until the control system beeps.
4. Release the joystick, there will be a long beep.
5. The power chair should now be unlocked.
Hope it works.

Put the chair in free wheel mode and then back again and then turn the chair off then on again. Sometimes the chair will get out of gear just a littel.
My jazzy chair did charge up when we plugged it in
Things I would check are ... Power at the outlet? Is the charger ON? Is there a fuse or circuit breaker involved? Are you certain it was plugged in (charger to charge port)? Have you noticed any deterioration in its operation recently?
My Jazzy wheelchair shuts down
check the inline fuse on the pos side of the battery it is encased in shrinkwrap,if it is loose the chair will act dead and everything will test good.I had this problem on my jazzy select14,and just happen to find it out by chance. an easy way to see if it is the fuse is to take it out and see if it works, without it.anyway good luck! and happy riding!!!

The battery is charged but the lights just flash
Make sure the charger is unplugged from the chair and that the chair is in gear. There's two levers that place the chair in freewheel, or neutral so you can roll it around. Place these in neutral, then back in gear firmly. If still flashing, turn chair off, wait three seconds and turn back on, then push on the horn button three times. This will take it out of sleep mode. Still not going, you will need to check all clip-on connections to make sure they are tight.
I am assuming that all of the lights are flashing constantly. If it flashes a "fault code", you will get a series of flashes from 1 to 10, then a pause, then a set of flashes. Count the number of flashes and it will tell you what the fault is for that number of flashes in the owners manual. If it is just two red lights flashing constantly, you have a set of dead batteries.
Good luck.
This is a Jazzy powerchair.
What model Jazzy is it? A soft idle??? Like a purr or is it a grrr? Purr is okay, gurr, bad.
During a thunderstorm, any and all electronic equipment should be either unplugged, or put onto a power strip that has a replacement gurantee for any damage as a result of a storm, etc.
Yes, you can take a shot through the charger and it can whach out your controller, and cost about 1,200 bucks to fix. If you are lucky, it'll trip the circuit breaker on the chair.
No charge
The brake and the motor are all one piece. To replace the brake means to replace the motor.
Pride Zero Turn 10 - 4 beep code randomly while driving.
It is called the "current limit time out." Apparently the battery needs to recuperate or adjust its charge across the cells. That is another question. What it needs is a few minutes to be turned off. I know this from seeing the manual.
