Generally where is the model # on a oven?

The model and serial number are usually on the frame around the oven where the door seals against it. Most often it's on the bottom right.

Electric coils do not work

Check the connections on the back of the oven feeding the elements. If good, follow back to control switch and check everything there. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/craig_3fa289bf857b1a3c

Oven doesn't light, ignite

I assume it a gas operated oven. In the past I have gotten the gas company out to reajust our stove at no cost. If it is a gas unit you need it readusted before it cause damage to your house or life.

GE oven ignitor replaced, gas turns on but no flame

Yeah, blowing up the house is never a good way to replace an appliance :)

Try contacting GE at: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/contact/form_service.htm. It should be free and they'll be able to help you narrow down what's going on.

Alternately, new GE ranges start at a little over $400 at Home Depot... You certainly have to appreciate keeping a good appliance going, but if it starts nickel & dimeing you, it may be that range's time to go.

When on "bake" the top

I do not think yoy have a problem as most ovens operate off of the bottom element only. The top element is for broiling only.

Cooker hood

Look around on the hood and cooker for a small fuse. If you find one, replace it with one of the same type and rating.

Replacing oven burner element, the lower element, for a GE stove

(I think it is 50 watts or volts??)
Most electric ranges are supplied with 220 volts - this is, especially at 60 Hz, deadly. You were lucky this time.
If the wires are not welded onto the element contacts, they might be so-called 'quick-disconnects' that pull straight off of blades that are part of the elelment.
You probably haven't hurt the range with the momentary short circuit since the chassis of the range is connected to neutral or ground so you just gave your breaker a workout. BTW, I have had to replace late breakers after they tripped. They wouldn't stay reset any more even after the problem was removed from the circuit. Don't be surprised if yours doesn't stay reset; it may not be a fault causing it.
