Samsung RB2155SH Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

First, the Samsung Refrigerator is the only fridge that has one compressor, but two different evaporators to operate the freezer and the refrigerator separately. Thus, you can have the bottom freezer working fine, while the fridge part will not.
The reason your fridge is not working is probably a faulty door switch in the refrigerator. The switch is malfunctioning, telling the computer that the door is open. Therefore you hear the door alarm go off in intervals, even though the door is actually closed. If the computer registers an open door, it will not pump cool air into the refrigerator, as that would be a waste of energy. All you need to do is replace the door switch. Until you get a new one, you can temporarily fix your fridge by simply removing the old switch altogether. You will not have any light in the fridge, however, it will cool again just fine until you are able to install the new switch (a simple plug-in contraption, by the way).

That one is a "Global Problem"You see, greed has gotten in to society and we now prefer to make cheap crap and throw it away. I suggest find a retailer who doesn\'t scream at you how much you can save this weekend. Then ask them which one might last "the distance", also does that brand have a reliable repairer locally?

some fridges have built in odor and/or water filters.make sure yours doesn't have one if it does it may need replaced.

to get colder turn towards the + side and for less towards the - side

If you are not using it , the power can be dislocated , but you should #1 prop the doors open so that the air can move and dispell any moisture that would otherwise cause odor problems in 6 months time....a box of baking powder in the freezer and one in the fridge is recomended too.

There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Hi

Your problem is with the defrost system, you should test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat with an ohms meter and check for continuity, if no continuity replace the part. If both check out ok then the defrost timer is bad which means you have to replace the mother board.

Or the problem could be something related to Door lock malfunction.

Since you did not provide with sufficient information about any kind of mal function in your refrigerator it is impossible to give you a proper answer.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing

Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace

Try removing the plug from the wall for a full 5 minutes and see if when the system resets it will clear the electronic glitch in the system.
If you can not reach the plug you can turn off the breaker in the house electric box for the 5 minutes.

empty fridge out of all shelves drawers and cool box take off light panel and fan housingremove fan from housing and defrost all ice completely with hair dryer dry out all water and reassemble {make sure fridge freezer is switched off and disconnected before starting}

If that does not solve the problem then Sounds like the PCB is stuffed.

If it was a defrost fault, it would have recovered.Any defrost fault wouldn't reoccur until the next scheduled defrost.

The compressor, capacitor, relay or o/l being faulty is a posibility, but I don't see that causing strange error codes or flashing the display. Never seen it, but I've seen strange things on samsungs, one off style faults that didn't occur on other samsungs.

So best guess, PCB failure, small possiblity of compressor, capacitor, relay or o/l failure. You really need someone with an annie anyalser to test compressor, capacitor, relay or o/l, and if they're good, has to be the PCB
