Hello I have a dvd stuck and it will not eject is

If you laptop has the type of disk drive that actually comes out of it then you can use a butter knife and VERY GENTLY pry the drive out. If your laptop has the type where the disk goes inside the computer you will need to first SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER, then remove the bottom of your laptop. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING EXCEPT THE DISK.

Hi i purchased a dell 1318 laptop from china suddenly i cont install xp it,s support only win7 while trying to install xp it will display the error message like this

Your laptop may have a SATA hard drive. The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Mouse/ touchpad option missing from

Welcome to Fixya

Uninstalling and installing the driver should be able to Fix the problem is this is a software issue only. If you successfully used external mouse without getting any problem then the problem would be the touchpad itself.

I have dell 1318 notebook

It would appear that you have a broken connection on the power connector on the motherboard of the laptop or a broken wire on the AC adapter. Repair of the connector on the motherboard could run about $125-$150 at a trustworthy repair shop. AC adapter replacement may be $25 over EBay.

If this information was helpful, please give a high rating. Thanks.

Black screen

from what it sounds like, you are looking at replacing one of two things. inside your screen is a backlight. depending on what type, (chemical tube or led, more often then not its a chemical tube they go quickly) number two item is your inverter. the inverter supplies the power to your backlight, usually located under the screen, attached to the metal frame of the screen(you have to remove the plastic framing) in other cases your inverter will be integrated into the motherboard, or it will be plugged into the motherboard. if its integrated, buy a new laptop as the motherboard will almost cost the same as the laptop. unless you want to risk damaging the screen to try and replace the backlight, i would go ahead and suggest looking up ebay for a inverter for your screen. you have no battery but you are plugged in directly. with this case i want to say its the inverter. but you need to know if its A) under the screen B) integrated C) on the mobo but not integrated. with A) you have a good chance of easily replacing it. with B) buy a new laptop. with C) you have to remove the faceplate with your plastic power button stuff and leds above the keyboard to access the keyboard screws. remove the keyboard and the inverter will be on the top left of the motherboard.
