Yes it does sound like display drivers although it could be the bios graphics controller or the graphics chip so keep an eye on the startup screen for the same thing. In the meantime right click on computer, select manage from the sub menu, then select device manager, it will generate a list of devices, click on the + icon next to display adapters, right click on one from the drop down list and select uninstall, restart the pc and let the operating system re-install the drivers automatically, this should hopefully resolve your problem.
Please keep an eye on the bios/post screen because that could be an indication of more serious issues.

You need to reinstall your OS as Vista is currupt.
Boot with the system recovery cd that came with your system and reinmstall to factory default.

Misuse is the most common cause of this. from the sound of it, it looks like the screen had suffered a severe impact, and it either broke, or the electronics inside the screen went loose. Your DVD drive is not working properly it seems that its lens is weak. For this problem you can contact any laptop reparing farm they may provide you a internal DVD reader just like you have on your laptop.
Or else you can buy an external DVD drive. Now a days these are less costlier and easily available in the market. You can go for LG,ASUS,Enter etc.

the software whicgh you r using is not proper its corrupted that software needs reinstalling again.and install the latest upgraded software. many customers face this same problem but reinstalling the latest software solves the problem.
