No hard drive detected

Your hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and re-seat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

Dell inspiron 1525 pluged in not charging

When you say it won't charge, does it charge at all? 1. It indicates that it is charging, but as soon as you unplug the charger the battery quickly or immediately indicates it is dead. If the laptop is off, the LED on the laptop shows it is charging but the battery is always dead, 2. It is as if you didn't have the charger plugged in. No light on the laptop at all when the charger is plugged in. Possible solutions: 1. The battery has died and is no longer capable of taking a charge. An alternate explanation if you can't even get the laptop to turn on even though the laptop charge LED is on, is that the internal power supply that converts the incoming and battery voltage to all the voltages required has died. 2. The power connector inside the laptop is a common failure point. The solder joints break from various minor shocks over time. This is going to become more common with lead-free solder as it is more brittle. Less likely is that the charging circuit inside the laptop has failed.

Which program dod you try to redownload? Your web browser? This error is caused by your internet connection, proxy settings, dead links (unlikely on youtube) or anti virus software. As for a solution you can try deleting cookies, temporarliy deactivating firewall and restart your router. Hope this helps. More specific information would be nice also.

Time-of-day clock stopped on dell xps m1330

When you alter the Date and Time and next time you boot up again the date and time has reverted back to some other time, this indicated the BIOS battery is flat and it needs to be replaced.
To fix this problem, replace the BIOS battery and change the date and Time setting.

Cooling fan not running

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail. A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust. Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Remove the hard drive and reseat it back in place, sometimes this will cure the problem. If this fails have the hardware checked for possible replacement.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and when I turn it on it tells me NO BOOTABLE DEVICE DETECTED This happen one other time and I rebooted my computer and it came back on but it did not work this time what

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE When the PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard disk or floppy drive it gives an error message "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key" There may be a hard disk problem. Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard. If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty. To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Wal-mart's computer care is a scam.

I work for the Wal-Mart PC Care program. The PC Care program is free, it provides assistance in installing a year worth of virus protection. Anything beyond that is on a pay for fee service. It does not replace the original Dell warranty (which as pointed out) you were under. The little card board disk hold clearly states that you should save your receipt here. The receipt can be generated again at the local store. A customer can also purchase an extended service that comes info effect after the original warranty expires. It is not a bad plan, but it does pay to read and know what the plan covers. You still need to contact Dell as you are under their warranty. Pre-existing conditions are not covered by any extended service plan.
