If you haven't set a lock code, the default is 12345 . If you've set and forgotten it, try turning off the phone, then pressing and holding the green (on) key, the number 3 key, and the asterisk (*) key. Keep them depressed until the phone is powered on. That will reset the entire phone to factory (meaning you'll lose anything stored on it: apps, contacts, messages, etc.), and the default lock code will be 12345 again. On some versions of this phone, that won't work. For those, you'll need to take it into a Nokia technician.

Connect the phone to your computer running Nokia PC Suite. And after recharging the battery fully, re-install the firmware. Backup all data and settings before you do that.

-take ur phone to nokia care with your i.d and purchase/contract papers to prove its your phone, and they will unlock it and reset the lock code for u. Its the only way.

Sis-files for the N79 needs to be signed in order to be installed. If you're trying to install unsigned "backups" of software or games made for old versions of the operating system - Symbian S60 - the phone refuses to do so. If you bought software made for the N79, contact the seller and ask him/her to provide you with a signed version (or ask for your money back if possible).
PS! Please note that installing games/software found in online "Nokia Games Mega Packs" (pirated software) may compromise your phone's security.

1) Factory defaults-
Type *#7780# on your standby screen.
This will reset all your setting to default factory settings. User data wont be affected. (Default Lock code is 12345)

2) Soft reset-
Type *#7370#
This will reset the phone as well delete user data. Use when want to format the phone.
