To replace the L1154 battery, pull the back cover off using the notched plastic lip. The battery slides out laterally by slightly lifting the outer notch on the battery holder.

First, press the mode button (the one in the middle) until either the alarm set screen or the time screen shows. Second, while in the alarm set or time screen, simultaneously press the split/reset select button and the start/stop set button (the two outer buttons). The alarm symbol should go away (this is normally in the upper right corner of the screen).
