I'm not familiar with ET2s but I had a similar problem with a Vespa 100 years ago. After hours of messing about i discovered a bolt had fallen and blocked one of the air inlets on the bottom of the frame. Was fine when i kicked it but when my bum was on the saddle it kinda 'sealed' around the tank area and starved the engine of air. As i say, i don't know about new ET2s but sounds kinda similar symptoms.

no panic - this is typical for the old 2stroke Vespas as their gearbox is on the rear axle....(needs no belt like the newer ones) -but then there is a certain amount of play needed...

-such strange behaviour occurs when the rollers in the variator case are worn, they have to be replaced by a dealer

could be not enough water in the watertank (see nr. 20) for the cooling-system or there is a leak somewhere in the watertubes and water was drained...

it can also be the coded key (blue or brown keys only) sends no signal to open up the antitheft lock - there is a small red indicator on the instrument panel (see owner manual)

Below the fuel tap on the 'horn'. Little round plastic 'button'. Prone to getting lost though so maybe missing. Should be a little hole or spigot if the choke lever itself is gone.

did you put back the choke (under fuel switch) - and better rev once high in neutral after succesful start until engine gets warm

the recommended mix is 40:1. So for 5 liters of fuel you're looking at 4.2 ounces of oil.

yes you can.just make sure you mix your gas and oil to the right ratio.
this should be in your owners manual.

it is better to spend a little more on 2T synthetic oil for less fume..

you need to tell the exact model type, eg. ET4, GT 200 as every model has the battery on another place...!

You have to dissamble the write top part around the handlebars to be able to access the battery compartment behind the clock. Uses a watch battery LR43. Then you replace that. There about 11 screws including the two mirrors you have to remove and 12 electrical plugs you have to unplug. It took me approx an hour to remove everything and access the battery compartment.

The paw of the ratchet is not engaging because either it or its spring are broken or out of place. Take out the transmission cover, find out which and fix it - all you need is a set of socket wrenches.

Sounds like clutch needs replaced or adjusted.
