Not sure exactly what Bostitch framer model you have, but if it is powered by compressed air, as long as you remove the air hose from the nail gun, there should be no risk of the nail gun firing while you remove the jammed nail. There should be a way to access the driver area from the top of the nail gun, even via a latch or a couple screws. Remove the top part of the driver area and that should give you access to the jammed nail, which you can remove. Use long nose pliers or something similar if the nails are really stuck.

when you removed the jammed nail did the piston driver move back into the rear position? if not there may still be a piece of the nail holding the piston.... If the piston is stuck in the forward position with the air disconnected use a hinge punch and tap it back, reconnect air and give it a try

Usually, air leaking from head is caused by worn/ broken seal # 163823 that sits on top of the cylinder. Remove head and observe seal. If it looks complete, however it fits loosly on the cylinder, use rtv sealeant under seal. Otherwise replace. Good luck

If a nail is stuck between the driver and nose of the gun, you will need to forcefully push the driver back into the gun. Remove the head and cylinder and place the body of the gun on piece of plywood with nose pointing up. Using very sturdy steel rod, hammer the driver down. The steel rod needs to be slightly thinner than the driver to allow for the stuck nail. I use a broken driver ground thinner on the side that will need to bypass the stuck nail. Careful when striking hard steel with hammer, could spinter (I use a heavy brass hammer). Good luck

Examine all the parts in the head where orings make contact. Fine scratches on metal or plastic parts where orings contact will cause the problem that you describe. Plastic parts and aluminum will scratch easily causing air to leak past. The gun works after cleaning because the oil or paste that you used is making seal. Once oil is displaced, pressure leaks past. Remove fine scratches with 400 grit paper until very smooth or replace scratched parts. Vinyl seals that snap into place must fit very snugly. If vinyl seals turn easily, remove them and clean off oil, then apply RTV sealeant and re-install (let RTV dry for 24 hours before retest). If aluminum parts have a rather deep groove where orings make contact, replace because oring will no longer make good contact(you could try wrapping oring groove with teflon tape then install oring, this wil bring out oring a bit). I would suggest checking the cylinder seal and the firing valve for the problem. Also when you take the cap back off check for cut o rings in the cap assembly.

forget the out side trigger levers,you need the trigger valve assembly,its inexpensive go to your nearest bostich dealer

you can fix yourself if you have a small pin punch. You will need to get a new trigger assembly, the o ring in the valve has split in half. To replace and follow closely, first disconnect air line, take the pin punch and drive out the pin holding the trigger itself and then drive out the pins holding the trigger valve in place. Now and do exactly as written, find a shop rag or cloth put under the trigger valve and hold it. While holding the collar back on the quick disconnect push the air supply onto the fitting and the valve will "pop" out. when replacing the valve use a light coat of grease and align the slots in valve with the holes where the roll pins go, reinsert and you should be ready to go.

could be the firing valve is sutck or has a pinched o ring or the cylinder seal is extremely loose or pitted.

This kit may not have all the orings but does include other parts needed. There are other kits available on ebay that would include all the orings but missing other parts.
Sometimes all you need is to open gun and clean orings and contact surfaces and lube with silicone paste (sold at Lowes in the plumbing department used to lube faucet orings). The cylinder seal on top of the cylinder and orings at cylinder spacer is usually cause of leak at nose of gun. Good luck

remove the nails and air hose. tap the gun lightly and does the driver fall down?? if so it needs new o rings and doesn't have enough seal to drive the nail. also look at the condition of the driver. FOLLOW CLOSELY, reconnect the gun and remove the nails pull back on the follower and using a piece of wood to activate the safety hold gun at an angle, weara safety glasses and depress and hold trigger to expose the driver, does it extend past the nose and LOOK DONT TOUCH to check the condition of the end. release the trigger. this should give you some ideas why. also recheck the nails for proper collation and head are they clipped or full round. Let me know and I will try and help further. READ closely before attempting the above ideas.

Can you provide more details about what is happening here? The gun does not "pump" anything. Is the plunger not working or retracting? Is the trigger failing to work properly or is there air leaking fro the gun somewhere? Please provide some details so we can help,
