Staples Swingline® 36115 Staple Guns Tools 1, 000 /box, Light-Duty, 5/16 Questions & Answers
Hello. I have a model #1000 Swingline Power Gun.
Went to the local hardware and read the labels. The store brand fit and works as good as the original staples. The 1000 has outlasted several of the new fashion staplers. And the local hardware store is an Ace Hardware.

I am luking for staples for swingline- power gun
Go to your local Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, or any other hardware/home store... in the nail/fasteners aisle.
Many staple manufacturers make them, sold by box of 1,000 and up. Just check what number gun they fit.
(example: box states "fits no. 800, 900 and 1000 staple guns.)
As long as "1000" is part of the list, they'll fit.

How do I open the
I couldn't open my Swingline Optima model 8784x either. Their website wasn't helpful except they mention you can change staples "with the push of a button." Button, I thought. What button? In the picture, there's a black button at the back end of the stapler. Mine is missing! The button, if it were there, would press down on a metal tab, releasing the staple slide which pops out the front. Insert staples, push it closed, you're done! I used a letter opener to push down the metal tab.

My Swingline model 520e jams every other time I staple.
There were a few staples left in the cartridge when the stapler stopped working. I went thru all the steps on bottom for stapler after changing the cartridge with two different cartridges. It makes the noise and puts marks in the paper, but no staples come out of it.

How do you release the handle of this gun
I am in the same boat, have no idea how to release the handle of this horrid Arrow T50. Staples are loaded but the lever is fixed and can't use it...of course the manual mentions nothing.

Nothing happens when you load paper to staple.
assuming it is plugged into a good power source and turned on (no offense intended, just getting the obvious out of the way - and I've fallen victim to the obvious myself before), look inside where you put the paper - is there a trigger mechanism? Most electric staplers have them (the paper hits the trigger and the stapler fires), and some allow you to set the sensitivity of the trigger. If yours allows you to adjust the sensitivity, try adjusting it. If it's not adjustable, the trigger probably needs to be replaced (under heavy use, they may need to be replaced every year or so).
