Unfortunately there is no phone number. I suggest you stop by your local Husky dealer (ask for a repair estimate while there $10-20 applied toward an actual repair probably $60-80), they should be willing to provide you with the correct links or a phone number where you can get them.
It is old (88 or 98) enough I doubt there is a decompression valve or purge bulb.
Please tell me you are not trying to drop start this. Read and follow the procedure "STARTING THE CHAIN SAW" from the manual. If you want to attempt a repair I think this is too deep for this forum. Please try here:

This is a collection of chainsaw enthusiasts with a few professional chainsaw mechanics thrown in. Here you can post a question and get an immediate response. You can have the chainsaw at your elbow and your helper a click away. If you make a good connection and are willing you may be able converse by phone. We can't do that yet.
I would like you to do this first:
Run Lean:
Was this saw perhaps operated in a lean condition (metal transfer from the piston to cylinder wall)?
  • Remove the spark plug wire and plug. Remove the muffler, hold a light at the plug hole and inspect the cylinder through the exhaust port. Is it smooth and shiny or does it appear speckled with dull gray spots or smears?
  • Pull the starter slowly, inspect the piston as it rises and falls. Is it a dull gray without scratches and gouges?
  • Hold the light at the exhaust port and look through the spark plug hole, inspect the cylinder above the exhaust port. Is it shiny and smooth or speckled with gray spots or smears?
Any spots or smears on the cylinder or deep scratches and gouges in the piston indicate the saw was operated in a lean condition. Repair of this on a home owner quality saw often exceeds replacement cost. A repair estimate by an independent saw shop should be considered.

This repair will most likely exceed replacement cost. Use your best judgment HTH

Hi
Check and clean the oil filter from oil tank.Check the worm gear wich engages with the oil piston pump(under the clutch).Near the hole where the oil comes out from oil tank there is an oil tank valve(see if it is clogged),it equalises the presure between interior and exterior of the oil tank.

Leaks chain oil out while setting, not running

The oil inside the tank will expand and contract with heat and cold from where it is stored. It is good to check and see that there is nothing between the bar and the body of the saw which causes the two parts from having a good seal and leaking oil instead of having all the oil go into the bar channel. Take the side cover and bar off the chainsaw and clean where all these parts meet. Sometimes it will not leak as much. If you store a saw in a place that has temperature fluctuations some oil is always going to leak out. I've always stored mine in a plastic container with rags on the bottom.

Husqvarna 61 chain saw sn: 3202438. What year is

Before the year 2000 the firts number is the year in a ten year rotation, so 3 is either 1983 or 1993, the 83 model will have a white cover the 93 will have either grey or orange top cover, the next two nubers are the week so it was week twenty, the 61 ran for a long time, it was a very reliable machine, through out its life it has had quite a few changes, it went from a two piece ignition unit too a single unit. I can e mail a parts list if you supply am e mail address.

The reason it is easy to pull over with the plug out is that there is (no compression) the air is forced up by the piston and out the spark plug hole. With the spark plug in the piston rises up, compressing the air in the cylinder which is ignighted by the spark plug which froces the piston back down.. Basic mechanics.

Chainsaw quit cutting well, the bar gets half way

Remove the bar and chain--check the oil port in the side of the engine case where the bar fits up to. Start the engine--oil should ooze out of the port. If not, service the pump, lines and tank filter. If oil does ooze out, clean the chain groove, and the two oil passages that feed oil to the groove. If the outsides of the chain groove have flared out from chain wear, file these edges off (about 45 degrees) til they don't project beyond the bar vertical surface so that they don't catch on the kerf cut. Make sure the chain is being sharpened and adjusted properly. The 'choking down' may be from the engine overheating while trying make the cut. The engine should 4-stroke when running at speed, but immediately 2-stroke when cutting. Make sure the air cleaner and muffler are not plugged. Hope this helps!
