I have a makita Hammer
Go to the below site for a manual. There isn't any reference to a glass window in the manual but the tool does need to be regreased as indicated in the manual, especially if it's used frequently. If you do it yourself, pay close attention to how much grease you put in the tool. Too much grease causes excessive drag and makes the motor work harder.
You can find an owner's manual and parts breakdown on Makita's website:

It wont hammer when I
Lack of hammering action usually indicates a lack of
lubrication or worn piston
orings. This hammer as well as many other
makita hammers work with a piston moving forward and back within a cylinder. This piston moves a second piston within the cylinder with a pocket of air (pressure and vacuum). If there is a lack of lubrication or
orings are worn, you will not get a good hammering action /force out of the second piston. Time for good cleaning and apply factory lube. Parts are at

Why does my new Makita dbn600 brad gun will not go deep enough with the rubber protector on.
Makita and Dewalt can being used with similar nails of other brands ? some sellers will you do believe but i can say by marketing technical updates Makita and Dewalt have very rare strict tolerance on dimensions but only original nails will and must working without problems , and 2nd choice nails have allways an other thickness or other kind of bonding they are made of. , use only the nails of the brand you working with if you have or MAKITA or DEWALT use the nails for the brand. otherwise the nailbrads will not slide smoothly its very critical made the last years more and more models of the brand have restrictions and get very fast troubles with cheap homebrands of hardware store parties. USE ONLY ORIGINAL delivered by the new Makita and Dewalt tools. otherwise if not working read the user manual if no succes go for warranty if its not work correct .
Bostich n66 nailer
Does the nailer fire but just not drive a nail, or does it not fire at all? If it's the first situation, it's a magazine feed issue. I had one of those and it started doing something very similar. The magazine spring had gotten dirty from use which didn't allow it to function properly. (Carefully) disassemble the magazine and clean the spring. Automotive brake cleaner works pretty good for that. Spray the guides with a dry lubricant then reassemble. If it's the second situation, I can't help you there.
