I had the same problem. I removed the paper tray, turned the printer on its side and manually moved all the working parts on the bottom of the printer - rollers and switches..

When I reinserted the paper tray, everything worked fine.

PS. I ordered and returned a new paper tray from Dell, that was not the problem.

I have just got around this issue by going into the printer properties, click the "Printing Properties" button, click the "Printer Status" button, go to the "Printer Settings" screen select the "Printer Maintenance" tab, select the "Non-Dell Toner", tick the Non-Dell Toner box and click the "Restart printer to apply new settings" button. Print a test and then reverse the process.

Apparently others have tried to obtain a service manual for that model, and one was not available. This isn\'t a fault with the printer, IT IS A FAULT WITH THE WAY IT HAS BEEN SET UP! The problem is, not all of the tabs have been removed from the PHD unit inside. In order to remove these, you need to open the front cover of the printer, move the four tabs 90 degrees and pull the whole PHD out. You will then see the four yellow tags on the side.Having printed with the tags in means the PHD has been potentially damaged. If you\'re lucky, you\'ll get away with removing the tags now and it will return to normal after about 50 pages, it not then you\'ll need a new PHD. If the light is flashing, it might not be the PHD, but you might be having a problem with the PDL emulation. Just go the control panel, right click the Dell printer. Select printer properties, not properties. Go to the advanced tab and check print directly to printer instead of spool print documents. This should work.

I had this problem with open office text files - the solution was to change the Page format (go to Format>Page) and set the page format to A4.

It's possible to be the chip failure. Try to change the chip or reset them (using an chip reseter). Also you can search for service manual on the internet. In the manual you can find more possible causes of your printer failure and how can repair it.

Your paper is probably stuck in the fuser. Open the front, top of printer. There are two blue tabs on either side. You have to remove the fuser and gently pry the paper with your fingers. It's probably crunched up like an accordian. Don't use any implements and don't touch the fuser. GENTLY is the key here. This probably happened because the paper was too thick or you were printer a full page of ink and the paper got sticky.

Hello, You can take a small vacuum and get the toner out then take a damp paper towel with alcohol on it and wipe, make sure the towel isn't dripping. Be sure and take the toner cart. out before you clean. Please rate my answer, Thank you.

the last set of rollers are fuser rollers you have a heat roller and a pressure roller the pressure roller is made of rubber and the heat roller is made of aluminium.from the your question im guessing that the paper is wrapped around the heat roller. if this roller has scratches in the serface it does need replacingalso if the pressure roller is damaged it also will cause a papetr jam. also you should check that all of the picker fingers are all in place and clean.
