My Acer Aspire One D257-1679 Laptop Constantly Freezes. Maybe Windows 7 Drivers out of Date and is not compatable.Should I do factory Reset?. Thank you
I just fixed a laptop with windows 7 freezes
windows 7 support has ended
all you need ot do is reduce the number of programs the computer is running
C drive needs lots of free space
if you want to keep the computer ..these things help
first store what you want to keep on to usb sticks
documents ,pictures ,files ,
not on the hard drive
delete all the unwanted items off the c drive
look into the users ..remove "Temp "
go through all the programs on c drive and uninstall
as many non windows 7 and unused microsoft programs and also unwanted computer games and printer drivers
clear all the downloads
clear the memory cache
defrag the c drive
scan for virus and troguns
if using versions of office above 2000 will slow /freeze the pc
windows 7 when released was based as a 32 bit and some x64
window 10 can be uploaded only if window 7 has upgraded to stage 3 but it will be slow
stuff that is X 86 will slow windows 7
Hdd is frozen password
If you can see the drive in Disk Management in Administrative tools its a good start. In a command prompt type: -
c: chkdsk / f
Note replace c: with the drive letter of the drive in . The /f switch will fix any issues.
If this fails try Testdisk (you will need to buy this) but read the instructions first. I have resurrected a few drives with these.
There are professional services to get data of drives if necessary.
As a last recourse put the drive in the refridgerator/freezer for a while and then put it back in the computer. This can give you one shot at getting the data of the drive.

hi does it work if you plug in another monitor through vga port. if it doe work with other monitor then check display setting in control panel and see if it set to your main screen. i hope it works. i tried this a couple of years ago and that my screen was actually dead.
Uninstall Windows 8 Trial and Return To Windows 7
To go back to windows 7 you will need to insert the system restore disk in to the cd drive, then reboot the computer, when the computer first starts up you will need to hit either f2 or f8 when the computer symbol first boots up either (dell, hp, sony.ect.) that will bring you to the boot menu then find where it will have cd/dvd drive in it most likely with some other words in the same line, once you have found that you will hit enter on your keyboard, then you should here your cd/dvd drive spin up, once it ask you to "press any key to boot from cd/dvd drive do that, then you should have the option to restore your computer
