I need to find the service code on my labtop, but
when you boot the computer press F2 to get into bios. Once you are in BIOS it will display the Express service code and the Service Tag of your computer.

DISC WONT EJECT IN MY STUDIO 17 LAPTOP
try to eject it through emergency eject hole. if it works try to open with in windows and if it works you need to delete upper filter and lower filter from registry but before doing that take the backup of registry or it may crash your sys.
I do not now how to turn on web cam
usually laptops have software that they can use to operate their webcam to capture video and pictures, if you use that software it turns on your cam, if you use yahoo messenger you can go to messenger>my webcam and it activates your webcam
I can't remember my webcam password
Uninstall it and reinstall it with the disk. If you do not have the disk. Search for the software/set-up online.

Need instructions for using webcam.
The Dell Creative WebCam software should be installed on your machine. to find click on start and type webcam or dell webcam in start search and it will populate the result or else you may find it in the all programs.
if you dont have it there, you may need to install it using the cd which you must have recieved with the computer.
Installation Steps :-
Choose the desired Language
Choose Typical Install
Choose Custom Install to chose WebCam Central and/or Cam Avatar Creator
Choose the Destination Folder
The installation will continue from that point without intervention
You will be prompted to restart the computer. Make the choice and click Finish. Open the simulation below to walk through the installation process.
This software can also launch by clicking Start >Programs Files > Dell Webcam > Dell Webcam Central.
If you get any error message after this you may need to reinstall the application.
to remove it from the computer.
click on start/control pannel (click on the classic view on the upper left hand corner) / programs and features / dell webcam central and then click on uninstall. and then restart the computer and then put the cd in the drive and start the installation. just follow the onscreen instructions and keep clicking next and agree to terms and next and then finish and then restart the computer. it should be up and running.
thats all you needed to do.
even then if you face any trouble call Dell technical support.

I have received what looks like to be everything
Well, I know from experience, there are 2 things you need for tv tuner cards. the first thing, of course is a driver. the driver tells your computer how top operate the hardware (the card itself). The NEXT part is the APPLICATION. The App gives you the TV buttons and screens and functions to operate the tuner. If you have the driver installed, but no application, you wont be able to operate the card functions (the computer will SEE the card and say its ready, but youd have no access to it). If you have the APP but no driver, then Windows wont even know what the device IS, so it will not be operational. Make sure you have both the DRIVER and APP installed. Once you do, start the app, look for channel search, auto-add the channels, and you should be all set. Good Luck!

this isn't something i can help with through postings. if you call in we will probably be able to fix you up. support cue for your product is 1-866-243-9297 if it's less than a year old it should still be under warranty, unless it's a spyware issue we help. if it is a spyware issue i recomend spybot search and destroy available at download.com for free.
A media key is staying alight even when i shut down
Go to
www.support.dell.com and download the latest version of the BIOS for your computer from the drivers and downloads section. Update the BIOS. Even if you get a prompt that the BIOS version is the same reflash it. If this doe snot help then you might need to reseat the control cover cable. The steps are in the manual on the dell support website. If you mention the exact studio 17 model I'll send the link. If these steps dont work call technical support and they can try a firmware update for the control cover else replace it.
