Slot load cd player keeps
I have had this happen, but there may be more than one problem causing it, so there may be more than one solution. One thing is: are you trying to put a DVD in a CD rom? Most of the newer ones are also a DVD player, but it never hurts to check. It will not read it, and may reject (eject) it. There may be scratches or other damage on the disk, causing the laser not to read it. I have found that sometimes you can turn the disk 1/4 or 1/2 turn and it will read it, I don't know why. (This is a common problem with playing cd's in a car stereo - often they will continue to eject it until you rotate it a bit.) If your disk has scratches, fingerprints, or dust on it, you can clean it with a mechanical cleaner. I bought one at Wal-Mart and it has cleaned many disks that I thought were useless. Cleaning by using a soft rag and soapy water my work, but may also cause even more scratches, so I would not recommend it.

Hi,
We could resolve this by many testings, we cannot give direct solution immediately.
Initially while booting do you see any screen? like DELL logo. Try tapping F2 or DEL key the moment you turn on and check if you can get into BIOS.

My dell studio battery wont charged. is it the
First
of all, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough
power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way
to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements
(written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage
& ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same,
or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the
laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at
least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be
less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be
providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the
power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage.
You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If
the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery
off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the
fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it
self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If
this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be
bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your
laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the
charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs
servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled
& the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the
area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should
be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard
altogether.
DELL STUDIO 1535 WILL NOT BOOT UP ERROR CODE 0146
That is a bad hard drive or sector in hard drive code. Try and run an FDISK on the drive or reformat the drive with your factory restore disk. If you are unable to format the hard drive replace it with a new one. That takes a SATA "serial ATA" hard drive. They are universal so any manufacture name replacement will work.
My studio gets a disk
It seems that the boot sector has been damaged.
re-installing OS may help.
If you have important data on the disk, please install the disk as second disk to another computer and backup your data before installing the os.

Sorry, the optical unit has died. Don't even bother taking the disk out, it has been damaged anyway. Take apart the laptop and replace the dvd unit . If you have enough money you can even upgrade it to blu-ray.

When you tap your touchpad it acts the same as a left-click action. accidentally skimming the touchpad when typing can be interpreted as clicking your cursor. If your cursor was over a different window than the one you were typing in, then you may have accidentally clicked out of the window where you were typing.
When typing try to place the cursor past the very end of your text and then if you accidentally bump the touchpad it won't mess up your work.

Cant download digital video from cam corder to
Go to the camcorder's manufacturer's support website and download the software compatible with your operating system.
Software needed to convert the video format to that of your computer can accept or play.

You need to connect a wired usb mouse first and try pairing the bluetooth mouse again with your system by going to the control panel and opening your bluetooth device manager. Click add a device and press the connect button underneath your mouse. System should be able to detect your mouse. If that failed, try replacing the batteries with fresh ones.
Hi ive got a dell studio laptop the laptop powers
HI there.
Try this things first so that you can check
if it is really the screen that's causing the problem,
While the computer is off, press D+POWER button
and hold it for 5 secs, different colors should come up,
Make sure the computer turns on. You will know that if the power button lights up.
Try to lug in an external monitor and see if display will come up,
If the display comes up, and the d+power did not display anything, might want to call technical support so you can get the screen replaced,
Have a good day!
I plug my power cord in and I get a message
Hi!
What you could do is to upgrade your bios firmware.
Here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/dellstudio17biosupgrade1
Download that and run it in windows. Do not turn off the computer at any point during the upgrade.
I hope this helps.
