Sounds like the CD may be going bad. You can eject the CD by pushing a paper clip in the little hole near the tray. Do that and clean it out with compressed air.
If it keeps acting that way, replace the drive.

You will either have the 'restore' disk or it'll be on a partition of it's own.

Insert disk and boot it up. Follow on-screen instructions.

Or go to menu from XP and look for 'restore' option and use that.

If your DVD is still struck in the drive. Insert 2 business cards half into the slot and feel for the DVD inside the drive. make sure on card is above the dvd and other other is below the dvd. Now press the eject option and bend the cards away from each other i.e. up and the other one down and pull the cards out of the slot. Your DVD should be out. Else repeat to get the Dvd out and try rebooting.

Hello there,
I would suggest that you take off the battery first overnight. This will discharge the power totally and will let you run a power cycle. The next day, try to charge it again. Let me know what would be the results after that.
Good luck!

Turn on your laptop using battery, if it's working remove the battery and plug the power adapter then turn it on. If nothing happened that means your battery is in good condition but one of the reasons are your motherboard chipset fail or your power adapter fail. You can check your power adapter with your friends having the same model laptop to determine what is really not functioning. If your power adapter are working, so you have the options. One is to replace your motherboard or buy a new laptop. Have a good day!

i think its the time you should get your hard disk changed....otherwise remove the ram from your sysem, clean its gold strip with an eraser and then try turning on your system with the two ram chips exchanged into their slots...
Try without the RAM...if a beep comes your system is working efficiently otherwise there's a problem with the motherboard...
