On computer start up in windows 7 .I get p17-DLLon screen

p17.dll is a dll associated with the P17 AudioControlX2 Module. Non-system processes like p17.dll originate from software you installed on your system. As most applications store data in your system's registry, it is likely that your registry has suffered fragmentation and accumulated harmful errors. It is recommended that you check your registry to identify hidden errors now. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. p17.dll is used by 'P17 AudioControlX2 Module'.This is an application created by 'Unknown'. To stop p17.dll permanently uninstall 'P17 AudioControlX2 Module' from your system. Uninstalling applications can leave registry keys that bloat your registry. We recommend you scan your registry for fragmented and obsolete entries.

I have a gateway dc-t50

Your problem is in trying to mix and match old and new technology.

Your camera can handle SD cards up to an absolute maximum capacity of 512MB (as per page 21 of the user manual). It's incapable of operating with anything of a higher capacity and totally incompatible with the SDHC card you appear to be trying to use.

Your only fix is to either limit yourself to 512MB maximum capacity SD cards, or to replace the camera with a modern SDHC compliant model which will accept your new card.

I hope that you have found my free reply to be clear and useful and that you can take a brief moment to rate my answer.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Blurry enlargements

I suggest altering the settings a little and if that doesn't work try using a different software to enlarge images. Such as windows photo gallery. That's not too good for enlarging just good for keeping the quality up if that isn't good enough try using a free trial of photo shop.
Hope I helped Dr Red

An external mic connection doesn't make much sense in a waterproof camera. Perhaps switching off the Sound Wind Noise Reduction might enhance the "boomy room sound"?

I need the software to download and save the

The CG9 Users Manual suggests that once the USB cable is connected, a USB menu will pop up on the camera. This is where you can choose for the camera to be a USB Card Reader, allowing you to access your files, rather than it acting like a webcam for example. When acting as a USB card reader, no other drivers are supposed to be required.

You could also try removing the card and placing it in an external USB card reader.

Page 167 in the manual also describes how to get the camera to point your computer to a support website. It says that if the card is removed, and then the cable connected, and then the camera is turned on, a connection menu will popup and "Computer" should be selected, and then "Card Reader" should be selected. Since the card has been removed, an internally stored link is supposed to popup to direct you to the support website.

This is most likely that CG9 Support website.

I cant find or download free software for my xacti

Sanyo seems reluctant to allow people to download the commercial software that is bundled with the camera when you buy it. I have read that you can request a free CDROM from them with some kind of proof of purchase, but I don't see where one can make that request.

You can find the CG9 Support Website here, where there are links to the manuals, and to software with no licensing issues.

You should be able to access the photos and the videos on the camera from your computer without any commercial software. If you can be more specific with what you are trying to do with the camera I can try to help.

Can not power up using

Hi.

This camera does not require additional drivers, on Sanyo website only additional software is supplied.

Ensure that the USB setting menu on camera is set to Connect to Computer, as described on manual at page 167.

844c1cf.gif

Test using a different USB cable, and test the camera on a different computer.

If still no luck, and you get same problem on any computer, then the camera may be faulty, in that case contact Sanyo at the number listed on the owners manual.

Check first settings and USB connection.

Regards.
