I have a samsung omnia but havent a clue how to set up the GPS. Please help with a dummies guide ;-)
Hi it all depends on the Navigation software you are using. If you want to use googlemaps hen it should work as it is out of the box. The same goes for Route66. For Tomtom you will need another program like GPSgate that deals with the satellite locks (Tomtom does not properly deal with the Omnias internal GPS)
The is much discussion and information here:-

but check the other posts in the forum as there is alot of info on GPS use here.

I want to edit my Omnia i900 with PC Studio 3, downloaded the newest updates but it still does not recognize my phone. What am I doing wrong? Do i need extra drivers/software?
There is no way to connect i900 omnia with pcstudio. Pcstudio works with classic phones but Omnia is a Windows Mobile Phone, so you have to use Active Sync. Bye

I have a new Samsung Omnia and have saved no files to memory, however, when I go to Settings - System Memory, my storage memory is full, and I keep getting a popup window saying my storage memory is full! How do I fix this?
I found this fix on another website. After numerous calls to verizon-they had no clue-and hours of trying to figure things out I found and tried this fix and it worked!
"I have a Samsung Omnia on VZW network. I was getting the "Memory Critically Low" error too. So, I opened File Explorer and did some searching for files that could be removed etc. I found an entire cache of files here: My Device: Program Files: VZAppZone:Temp:Temp
I deleted these files using a mass delete: Menu:Edit:Select All: Menu:Delete With no ill effects as of yet.
I spent the better part of an hour testing every application on the phone, opening contacts, etc. I haven't noticed anything wrong.
Doing this freed up almost 35mb of storage!!!!! "
I had the same results. This finally solved my mem problems-no more pop up critical me low box!! It freed up over 1/2 the avail memory.
Another tip is to clear out your browsers cache files

My Samsung Omnia's Screen Alignment did not work after a hard reset. I have been trying to get the problem solved without success.
Actually the problem started when the stylus did not work for the function that is being tapped, I decided to carry out "hard reset" after which I am to "Align Screen" before the main screen will be displayed. To my surprise, the screen of the device refuse to be aligned after numerous trials.
Im having the same problem and mine will not work at all!!!!!! Ive tried holding it down and everything I got this phone and i knew nothing about it , this happneed right out of the blew. I took it up to the place and they said that it had water damange and i just got the phone didnt have any problems or anything , So i returned the phone and got a new one and ive hadnt had any problems yet. i have also herd that getting a new screen on the phone helps but im not sure im older and i dont have experience with phones that much any ways.

Samsung Omnia is not getting connected with PC through the USB data cable. The message "USB device is not recognized" is appearing in the PC as if either the PC needs a driver or Omnis needs a driver.
ActiveSync installed in XP System PC which is not able to sync with Omnia because of this USB connection is having problem.
Your best bet is to soft reset the device, uninstall ALL samsung software off you pc including drivers. then ensure the phone is in ActiveSync mode and then install all software from the disc or samsung.com site and then connect the phone.

hardreset samsung omnia i900
How to Hard Reset the Samsung Omnia
Many people do not know how to hard reset the Omnia phone. The manual does not teach you the trick of doing this. You may follow the steps below to reset it to default factory settings.
1. Poke the soft reset hole beside your power button(Poke and Release)
2. Press and hold the Call and Cancel Button together(Do it immediately after Step 1)
3. Do not release Call and Cancel button, the Samsung Omnia Screen Appear
4. The Reset Screen will appear as below
This is a snapshot of the Samsung Omina Reset screen.
(Image from mobilesilence.blogspot.com)
Press Call to Format or End Call to Cancel.
This hard reset does not erase the 16GB memory. To reset everything, you could use the software hard reset by going to Settings > Hard Reset. There is also option to format the storage card.
If you decided not to format and press cancel, that will soft reset the phone.
Another Method to Hard Reset
There is another method to Hard Reset, just key in the following code on your Dial Pad
*2767*3855#
After keying in the code, the Phone will restart itself. Phone will be reset to defaulf factory settings straight away. For DZIA5 Firmware, it will format the My Storage Card also.
