You can withdraw a bid under certain circumstances.
From EBay page.... Find this in the EBay answer center, All about bidding,
...
However, honest mistakes sometimes occur. You can retract a bid if you have a valid reason for doing so as defined by eBay policy and you retract the bid within the required time period.
Valid reasons for retracting a bid include:
You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount. For example, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this happens, you need to reenter the correct bid amount right away.
The item's description changed significantly after you entered your last bid. For example, the seller updated the details about the item's features or condition.
You can't reach the seller by telephone or email.
Changing your mind is not a valid reason for retracting a bid. In the future, be sure to carefully review the listing before bidding.
Yes, you can still retract a bid but only if there are still more than 12 hours left before the listing ends, if there's less than 12 hours you can no longer retract the bid but you need to contact the seller so that the seller can cancel the bid for you.
here's how you can retract your bid;
1. log in to your ebay account then click the site map and then scroll down and click bid retractions under Buying Resources on the left side. 2. then enter the item number in the box where it says "Item number of auction in question" and choose the reason, you can enter wrong amount. 3. then just click the retract bid button below
hope this helps.... please dont forget to rate! thanks!
As a general rule, you can’t retract or cancel a bid. Once you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you’re the winning bidder. However, honest mistakes sometimes occur. Review the conditions and time restrictions and if you feel you have a valid reason for retracting a bid, fill out aBid Retraction form. Bid Retraction Form: https://signin.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&UsingSSL=1&pUserId=&co_partnerId=2&siteid=0&ru=http%3A%2F%2Foffer.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FRetractBidShow%26guest%3D1&pageType=563
As per eBay and a general rule, based on your inquiry -you can't retract or cancel a bid. When you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you're the winning bidder. When you place a bid it is considered a contract, and you're obligated to purchase the item. The best way is to contact the seller thru email or sand a message as early as possible. Based on my experience sellers will work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly. Hope this helps.
You should have received an email explaining the problem and what needs to happen before your account can be reinstated. If you can't find it, click My eBay at the top of the page. You'll find a copy of the email after clicking the Messages tab.
There are two reasons why an account may be suspended:
Violation of our rules and policies: For policy violations, you need to check the email we sent you. It will explain what the problem was and what needs to happen before the account can be reinstated. You can learn about our policies.

Either you're entering it incorrectly (caps lock?) or someone has "hacked" into your account and changed the password on you.
Click eBay and click "sign in". On the next page, click "Forgot Password" as shown below:
Provide the info requested or if unable to, click the Contact Customer Service link as shown below:
You should change the password for any account used with ebay specifically Paypal if it is the same - or an easy password to guess.
Auctions can be set to a number of time durations. 3, 5, 7, or 10 days for a straight auction or as a fixed price sale up to 30 days. if you are outbid, ebay will send you a notification. However, if the auction is close to ending these notices may not reach you in time to raise your bid. You will have the best luck placing the highest bid you are comfortable with the first time. Ebay will only place it in the amount nessesary to beat the next highest bidder and then increase it as necessary but only up to the maximum you have bid.
