How do you unclog drain hose?

Remove the drain hose from the standpipe and the back of the machine and use a long rod or broom handle and push it through the hose.

My washing machine is displaying

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

LG washers 'OE' indicate a drainage problem so I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My aged invalid mother has

Hi I hope you solved this by now but I thought an answer might be useful if anyone else has the same question. I am not an expert just an owner of a LG WD-1412RD. It sounds like your mum is not aware this is just the normal safety cool down period following drying (as the stainless steel interior gets very hot during drying). The Door lock sign (small red light) is on, and the display shows Cd during this time, then it beeps and the door unlocks by itself. If you need to remove your laundry earlier than this, you can press the START/PAUSE button to end the cycle (it still takes a couple of minutes). This is covered on p 21 - 22 of the owners manual. which can be downloaded from the LG site. http://www.lg.com/au/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=WD-1412RD&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=WD-1412RD&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#

The cl lock is on

LG washing machines indicating error code CL may have the child lock activated.
Try holding down the temperature and eco/rapid options together to turn off child lock.
Some LG series use "TEMP and OPTION" at the same time.

OE Error

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

Washing process stops, display shows "OE", model WD 1438 RD

It is a drain error code signifying that the pump is not able to completely drain the machine after 10 minutes. It indicates an issue with the drain system. Check to make sure that the drain hose is not clogged and the pump filter is clear from any obstruction. Consider replacing the pump assembly if no issue is found with the drain hose and the pump filter.

LE error code on LG

The LE error code could mean a number of different issues. The advice LG themselves give you is to unplug the unit for 2 hours and drain the tub. There will be an access panel at the bottom and theres a hose you can drain the tub into a bucket. Oversudsing can cause this error. Also can a software issue in the control board.

Most people get this error with the units brand new within the first three or four loads. Other issues could be a bad RPS sensor, Stator, or Control board. We have one of these units in the shop right now that we replaced everything that LG said to replace with no success. We have been waiting on a new control board for 4 months now......

Hope this helps _MJ_

Message error:E5 with Washer LG- WD-10150FB

HI
The dryer timer, located in back of the control panel, controls several things: the drying time of the clothes in the drum, the flow of electricity to the heating element, and the flow of power to the timer motor and the drum motor in the dryer cabinet.

Timers are driven by synchronous motors. Although the contact part of the timer can be cleaned and adjusted on some dryers, this is a job for a professional repair person. Timer motor repairs should also be handled by a professional, but you can replace a faulty timer yourself. Here's how to test and replace a dryer timer:

Step 1: To access the timer, remove the front of the control panel. On some dryers, the timer can be removed without removing the panel. In either case, pull the timer knob off the shaft and slip off the pointer. The pointer is usually keyed to the shaft by two flat surfaces to keep the pointer from slipping when it's turned.

Step 2: Test the timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Turn the timer to the NORMAL DRY setting and disconnect one of the timer power leads. Some timers may have several wires connected to them: The power leads are usually larger than the other wires, and this size difference can be spotted under close examination. Clip one probe of the meter to each timer terminal. If the meter reads zero, the timer is working. If the needle jumps to a high reading, the timer is faulty and should be replaced. Replace the timer with a new one of the same size and type.

Step 3: To replace the timer, have a helper hold the new timer close to the old one, especially if there are several wires to be changed. Disconnect the old wires one at a time, connecting each corresponding new wire as you work, to make sure the connections are properly made. Or, draw a diagram detailing the proper connections. After all the wires are connected, check the connections again for accuracy........PLEASE RATE IT
