Error code LE what does it mean

The LE error indicates that the Controller is having trouble communicating with the motor. The most common cause for this is if something gets wedged in and the drum can't turn freely. Try turning it by hand to make sure it is free. The next most common cause is if someone spins the drum moderately fast with the washer turned off. I.e. if you give it a spin to make sure their isn't a sock stuck to the drum.. To fix this, unplug the machine and turn the drum counterclockwise 4 full rotations followed by 4 rotations clockwise at low speed. Plug it back in and see if that fixes it. If that's not it, then there is a sensor called the Hall Sensor that could be the problem. I've never had to replace one of these and can't comment further. GL

Why is there black dust (carbon?) on and around the electric motor? Is this a problem?

That is most likely from the belt on the drum. If you want to check that though take some of the dust and see if it is gritty feeling. you can check that by putting it on something smooth and setting something hard on top of it and moving the top object around. Or pinch it between fingers etc. The motor should be brushless because it is an AC motor.

LG Washer

I had the same error code along with the drum "freezing" up. The first unit that was delivered 2 years ago leaked water from the detergent compartment and they sent a second unit. I have only had this unit for 2 years and I am very disappointed in the LG product. LG was no help on the phone and I the only people that could service it were 45min away from were I live. I took the advice of a posting on this website that it could be a part called the sensor assembly (#6501KW2002A) and ordered it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). To get to the sensor assembly, you first unplug and take off the back plate that has 4 small screws. Next, unscrew the big bolt in the middle and take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing. Next unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at (the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace). Next you will unscrew the 6 or so smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to. Take it off, unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one – and reassemble. This worked perfectly for me and the part only cost $18 bucks plus shipping. When working, this product works well but I will not be purchasing any LG products in the future.

LG Tromm WM2277HW drum was noisy, then wobbly and now has stopped spinning

Remove back cover and check for a loose nut that holds the rotor. you may have to replace the rotor( is the cover that holds the magnets). Not the stator (which is the motor.)

Can you use baking soda in the front loader

I would not do it very often as some of the parts inside are made od aluminium that can be corroded easily. I would stick to the normal products myself.

LE error on LG 2277HW

Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor. Follow these steps to resolved an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.

Step 1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Step 2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Step 3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Step 4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

Step 5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Has a large load size been used with a gentle wash setting?Gentle wash cycles such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because the cycles are more gentle while tumbling and spinning, too many items in the drum can register as an issue with the motor. In this instance reset the unit and run a test rinse and spin cycle.Has the washer been overloaded?Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.
