I have an Electric Furnace

Most likely not.Heating equipment circuit breakers have to be calculated at 100% of the load continuous. That would mean the circuit breaker would have to be rated at 45amps continuous. Most breakers are not. Most breakers are rated at 80% of their rating for continuous loads. So if you installed a 60 amp circuit, 80% of 60 = 48 amps. This would fit your requirement. That would be a 60amp breaker, with #6 cu conductors.

All breakers do not trip when overloaded

YES, this is true! Overloaded to what degree? Sometimes, a 20 amp circuit breaker can handle an amp, two, or a few more before tripping. This happens for a number of reasons, but for the most part - they're designed to handle a little bit more than their stated (eg. 20 or 30 amp) amperage. The electrical code states that overload protection (cir. brkr's) should not exceed 80% of their load. So on a 20 amp breaker, you shouldn't exceed 16 amps - and on a 30 amp breaker, it shouldn't exceed 24 amps. I hope this is what you were looking for. If not, feel free to contact me again and I will provide you with more information. Good Luck!

I NEED A CIRCUIT BREAKER IT HAS GTE SYLVANIA, ON

There are companies that specialize in used / obsolete electrical distribution equipment. Larger areas may also have "brick and mortar" stores to shop. If no such store exists near you, try googling "used GTE cicuit breaker" When I did I got a bunch of results including this one:

I hope this helps!

Living in a double wide and am having problems

If the power used through a breaker exceeds 80% of its rating for an extended period of time, the internal parts will start to degrade. This can result in one of two possibilities:

1) The breaker will trip with a load less than its rating (your case)
2) The breaker won't trip at all or only under severe over current (not good!)

Given the age of your unit, I would suggest that you invest in new breakers, These should be available for no more than $5-$10 each depending upon the current rating. Also check for any corrosion inside the breaker box. That also will account for some of the heat you are feeling, I would also suggest that a licensed electrician inspect the box and wiring for any other signs of degradation.

Can you ptu 2 wires on a sylvania circuit breaker

Yes, it is fine to put two wires on the output of a circuit breaker, but the wire sizes should each be suitable for the breaker size. That is, don't use two 14 Ga wires on a 20 Amp breaker assuming they will share the load. Each wire must be suitable for the full load the breaker will allow.

My husband has recently moved

Circuit breakers trip when then get hot.
They get hot when the line draws too many amps.
If breaker does not trip, then line overheats and causes a fire.

So tripping breaker warns that too many watts are being used.

Best solution is to run additional circuit into bedroom.
Another solution is to run extension cord from another room and plug one big item onto that cord.
I had same problem in a house we rented.
I pulled back carpet in corner and drilled a hole into basement, and then brought extension cord up from below. When we moved, the carpet went back down.

If you are qualified to work on circuit breakers inside the main box, you can move wire to another same-size circuit breaker to see if breaker is faulty. Do NOT put that wire on a larger amp breaker.

What other brand will fit

There are only a few that will not which include SQD- QO & QOB, although SQ D has the homeline that would fit the panel. other brands include GE, Murray, and ITE. There may be listing issues that have to be considered, since UL may not have tested these with the Sylvania panels.

Light bulbs on outside lamp keep burning out

this is a tough one to solve.... outdoors is a harsh environment and bulbs often don't last long. Several things lead to premature failure. One is the fixture is getting too hot , use lower wattage bulb. Two - do the math if the bulb is on 8 -10 hours a nite..... doesn't take many days to kill it. not sure about those average hour life ratings. try using those flourescent bulbs those last a long time and use less juice.

I need a new 15 amp breaker and can not find Sylvania

Since Sylvania changed to Chanllenger later own, there are only a few options, " hope depo" may have a replacement breakers, but Cutler Hammer "BR" style should work. If they won't fit i would call the oldest electrician in town and see if he has a few in the van!
