Craftsman model #921166390 motor

The motor does not take oil on that unit. The compressor housing does though. If you cant get it to start after it ran dry, the cylinder is most likely seized to the piston.

Hi, a friend has a

If it will not shut down, that is an indication of a regulator problem or mal-adjustment. For best results, replace it. Craftsman/Sears should have the part.

Is this device 120 or 220?

If important, you can 'reply' to this post and that will return to my attention.

I have a craftsman air compressor model # 921.16472S. When it got to cut off pressure the bleed valve started blowing. I changed the pressure switch and bleed valve then lowered the cut off pressure.

Either the pressure switch is not shutting off when reaching the desired pressure or the pop off is either the wrong one or it is bad. Some blow off at lower pressures for single stage air compressors while others blow off higher for 2 stage air compressors.

The regulator knob may not be letting any air past it. It's the only valve that controls the amount of air pressure is let into the hose.

Quick release collar

Did you try to insert a nipple into it ... maybe something has to be inserted to release it. Maybe try to tap it lightly to see if it will pop loose? Be careful not to mess anything up in case you need to return it. Since you just bought it I would check with the store or manufacturer. They can tell you if it should be back or not ... if not I would return it. If you do not want to deal with returning it just replace the coupling with a good one.
