My Craftsman 919.166600 compressor takes forever to fill, what would be the issues
Could be piston O rings, worn cylinder line, worn reed valve-plate assembly, worn discharge check valve, leaking unloader valve. Need info if unloader is leaking or unloader tubing is leaking. The Cheapest and quickest is to remove valve plate assembly and inspect valve plate. Suction side should hold water and discharge valve should hold water placed on bottom of plate.
Converting From 220 to 110 craftsman compressor Model 106153680
Only the motor needs its feed connections changed from one voltage to the other. Someone knowledgeable about motors should do this. But, not all motors have multiple voltage capabilities. I have a Craftsman 2 HP compressor myself that only will run on 220. Check your manual on this. If you can't change the motor, it will probably be cost-effective to run a 220 line over buying a new motor.
I have a Craftsman 2-gallon 1.5 HP air compressor,
Is there pressure in the tank already? The reset is usually on the end of the motor.
The pressure switch, a diaphragm pushes against an adjustable tension spring. Less spring tension cuts the motor out at lower pressure, more tension at a higher pressure. Has this adjustment been used? It may have a second adjustment, either nut or screw, that adjusts the pressure differential between cut in and cut out.
I have an old 5hp 20 gallon horizontal Craftsman
possibly an installation problem
most control units screw directly into the tank and the pressure is read directly to the diaphragm that controls the switching
check if the bleeder line is supposed to be attached to the control unit at all
unless you have a peculiar set up the compressor line goes to a nonreturn valve into the tank
there is a relief valve in the tank that blows off when dangerous pressures are reached ( around 120 psi)
there is a fitting where the control screws in and that reads tank pressure to control the on/off of the motor
