My Lincoln weld pak 100 feeding wire but can get an arc

There are several things that could cause this: 1. The relay (contactor) that switches on the arc is not closing and it could be bad. 2. The diodes in the power supply are bad. 3. The low voltage transformer is bad.

My wire feed quit feeding wire what do i need to

Hi:If your drive rollers are moving but can't push the wire all the way to the end of the gun, your problem could be the liner in your gun and/or the contact tip. Try to replace both. If your drive roller are not moving then check the trigger of the gun.

Broken wire speed switch

You can fix it yourself, take the potentiometer (also known as reohstat) out.You will need to open the machine and take the knob off to free it out. You can take the old potentiometer to any electrical shop, or go to your nearest welding shop/store I will recommend praxair store.

I have a lincoln sp-175plus, when trying to weld

Your drive tension is too light. There are rollers that the wire feeds through and they need to be tightened. They should push the wire through the gun but slip if you put the tip against a solid object and pull the trigger. If they do not slip, they will jam your gun. Give the tensioner another turn.

Im looking into getting a mig and have come across

No, it's not going to be equal to the Lincoln in all ways- but if Lincoln built it it'll be a decent machine.

In all honesty, if you can only have one welder it should be a stick welder. Mig welders are full of problems and, while ideally suited to 8 hour a day 7 days a week use, can be finicky as heck when used infrequently.

The stick welder allows you to work in all positions and all conditions, it's generally cheaper than Mig welding and it's usually faster.

My welder no longer produces high quality welds

You could have a poor ground clamp connection. Check that. also increasing the gas flow will cause turbulence at the weld, this can have a negative effect on weld quality.
Check your connections, check your liner, actually, replace it if you haven't recently.
