Cannot remove an old schlage door knob
It is a small allen key (hex head) that comes with the lockset when purchased. They are just threaded into the handle (knob) and sets into a reset when threaded in. You can take some putty and push it into the hole and gently remove to make a negative imprint of the allen key, go to a local home center like Lowes or H. Depot and match it up. You can buy a set of allen keys that are like a pocket knife with multiple allen keys. Note, it is very thin. An alternative is to purchase another similar Schlage lockset, open carefully, use the key, and return the lockset saying it is the wrong one. Not nice to do, but in this economy every penny counts. I hope this helps and good luck.

Sort of. The lock has what is called the "turnlock" feature. When enabled, you have to only push the Schlage button, then manually turn the "dial". When disabled, you have to enter the user code, then turn the dial. So either way, you still have to turn the dial.
To enable/disable this feature, enter your Programming Code --press Schlage button--press 7
Each time you do this, you toggle between enabled and disabled.
