Hayward 1.5 Hp Northstar High Performance Pump - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Proline pool pump SD-1--1N11XB
This sounds like you have a bad seal in your pump and the loose piece is probally a piece on the shaft of the motor called a water slinger. This is just there in case your seal goes bad and leaks water it will spin with the motor and sling the leaking water out and away from the motor so a small leak does not ruin your motor. But you will still need to replace your seal and "O" ring.
Which wires go to L1 and L2 on a pool motor HP1.5
I think yours is a 220 V AC pump ... L1 would be the "black" wire and L2 would be the "red" wire. Please check your motor documentation to confirm this.
Alternatively, this pump can run on 110 V ... again, please check your documentation.
I would expect you have 12/ 2 with ground wire coming from your distribution panel to this pump. The wires are now Black and White and Bare or green. You can use this wire for 110 or 220 depending on whether you use a single pole or double pole breaker. The #12 wire should be good for 20 amps at 110. If you do the 220 thing, the white wire becomes "red" and connects to the other pole of a double pole breaker (black connecting to the first pole).
The load imposed by the pump on the circuit is well with in the capability of the #12 wire as long as this is a dedicated circuit.
I hope I have not confused. If I missed the mark on this, please post a comment to your question and I will tru again.
thanks

If you have a crack in your basket you may have a clogged impeller. With the power off reach back into the pump through the pump pot with a long screwdriver and feel around. If it feels spongey it there you have a clog. Take the serew driver an use an oceleting motion in a counter clockwise direction this should loosen the clog then reach in with a long set of thin pliers and pull the clog out. This should fix your problem and once water is flowing your pump should quiet down.

you either have a bad start capacitor, bad bearings, or bad wiring. make sure all the wiring is tight, make sure the motor spins freely, and check the capacitor for leakage or "bloating".
In rare occasions, the motor windings can develop a direct short and cause the breaker to immediately trip.
I can not put it together.
If you are talking about reinstalling the motor to the pump. Lube the diffuser oring and seal plate oring with magic lube.. its a silicon lube.
Hayward 2607 pump
FROM WHAT I CAN SEE ON MY SCAMATIC THE PUMP HAS A MECHANICAL SEAL, THE PUMP IS FROZEN TO THE MOTOR YOU CAN GET THIS APART BY TAPPING WITH A PLASTIC MALLET AND PATIENTS THEY CAN BE TOUGH SOME TIMES
How do i drain my pool with a hayward variflow
To Flush out the filter with the backwash setting.
The backwash setting releases trapped particles from the filter back into the swimming pool. You may need to alternate between the rinse and backwash settings until the water runs clear in order to unblock your filtration system and flush out clogs.
To Rinse away dislodged items from the backwash setting. The rinse setting flushes clean water through the pipes and carries away any particles or clogs freed during the backwashing.
To Drain the pool select waste on the multiport valve.
This sends the water directly to the drain rather than back into the swimming pool.
Close the filtration equipment and stop the pump with the closed setting. You should only use the closed setting when you turn the pump off. This function allows you to remove the strainer basket, clean the filter tank and perform other swimming pool maintenance on the filtration system.
Hi, i also have cloudy water, i have a 1.5 hp
Some times if you have an imblance of salts within your pool you will see this "cloudy water" you are referring to. Make sure that the water is cloudy before entering the filter and not the other way around.
Next, make sure that the current gasket/o-ring that is being used has silicone based grease applied to the gasket/o-ring surface. When you replace the filter and reset the oring and gasket enusre that the proper tightening torque is achieved at each bolt. Make sure that you cross tighten the bolts. Much like replacing a wheel on a car.
Finally, if all of these steps have not helped you then you can make your own gasket by either using "Gasket Paper" or "Liquid Gasket".
Advantage to using Gasket Paper is that it is less messy and easier to change out.
With Gasket Paper, make sure that you trace out the previous Gasket on Gasket Paper before installing. I would still recommend using a light cote of Silicone Based Greased around the new gasket before installation.
The pump motor is a
Your three wire system was 115V? I assume then it was Line, neutral, and ground and you would hook the Line and neutral to the motor line posts and the ground to the ground post.
You also need to be sure to reset the motor from the 230 volt to the 115 volt setting to match the line voltage you are supplying.
Low pump pressure
Or blocked.
Have you used pool 'O' ring grease on all 'O'rings - tipped water from bucket on all pipe joins on suction side to see if blows bubbles?
Pump stopped woking when I turned it off to backflush
You have got stuff in your impella.
Take pump away from pipes and 'elec' power lines - empty skimmer filter inside pump - turn over and remove all 'stuff' from inside skimmer filter section.
If you can - turn impella using knife or screwdriver see if it runs smooth and silent.
I have Hayward earth filter for the pool along
make sure all vents are clean check to see if there is anything stuck in impeller with pump off take straner basket out look at opening going back to filter is water filling the strainer basket
Low return pressure
if you are referring to the the guage on the filter, this is really too high. You should backwash and would like to see it down to 8-12. if not, have you changed your sand?. I like to change it every other year.
