Can I bypass (hotwire) the controller on my Makita ls1013 Miter saw?

Not a good idea. Miter saw are too dangerous to be altering them in any way.

Makita miter saw has no power

Disconnect it from the wall outlet. Use a VOM set to continuity (i.e ohms) connect one lead to each of the power cords. Depress the start switch. If switch and circuits are good you should get either a low reading or just 0.0. IF you get no reading or really high reading the unit has an internal fault and more troubleshooting will have to be done.

Saw stops at predetermined stops but wont lock anywhere else

If the handle wont lock down the linkage could be out of adjustment. Look under it and you can see how the linkage works pretty easily or if it's broken. You can view a breakdown and makita.com or call Makita direct at 1-800-462-5482. they can direct you to tech from there.

I have a hard time

OK here is what you got, unplug saw and remove the fence. then remove the kerf boards and you will find a 13MM hex nut in the recess, remove it and pull the 2 parts apart. what you will find is where the castings have rubbed together causing your problem.. clean all the dirt from the area and use a VERY fine sandpaper to smooth the surfaces, after that clean the 2 wear plates, apply a light coat of grease to all mating surfaces nd set the table assembly back on, you might have to pull the handle that allows it to rotate, snug the hex nut until the table won't wiggle and the travel is smooth and then reinstall the kerf boards and realign the fence to square it up again.

Promblem with Makita 1013 ajusting

Just found your problem, what you need to do it unplug tool and get a good square. Set the blade at 0deg. and then put the square on the left side of the blade to check it. If it is out of square you would need to loosen the fence bolts (13MM) and adjust the fence, snug bolts on the left side and move your square to the right and recheck and then snug the bolts there, I always recheck the fence to ensure it is square and not moved before tightening the bolts fully. If the head is out there are bolts on the pivot that need to be adjusted and again recheck. If you go to Makitausa.com you can download an owners manual with instructions on what to do. Let me know if you still have problems.

Makiata

there should be a release knob or switch on the rail (the part that slides) of the saw. There shouldn't be really any moving parts there , so if you see a little knob loosen it to see if it slides. Good Luck

How to adjust saw to

I would go to Makitausa.com and download a manual. what you have aproblem with is either a bent fence or just misalignment. simply all you need is a good square, put the head at 0 degree and check to see if out, making sure not to put square on the teeth of the blade, if it is out there are 4 13mm bolts that hold fence in place loosen them and starting from the left side put it at the exact dead nut. snug the bolt and then check the right side. I usually check them 3 times for accuracy when you are confident snug all the bolts and recheck. Let me know if you need more assistance

My guard gets stuck when i cut a piece of wood,it

The pivot is probably full of pitch or other debris. Clean with turpentine if you work with pine or other resinous woods.
