Mike, I have found what I believe is the correct manual for your heater at http://www.pool-heaters.com/pdf/Pentair-Maxetherm_manual.pdf. I couldn't find an error code list in the manual but I might have missed it. If you call the the StaRite technical support line at 888-782-7483 they should be able to help youfigure this issue out. I hope this helps.

Sta-rite heater error code 126
The 126 is not an error code, but it maybe the temp of the water that the heater is reading. If the heater thinks the water is 126 degrees, it will not start at all.
If the heater is reading the wrong water temp, the problem is the Thermister, which is the sensor that is suppose to read the water temp. You will need to replace this sensor in order to correct the problem with the heater. It is really easy to do!
If you have a manual for the heater, if you go to the Replacement Parts Listing for the Electrical System, page 53 in the online version, the Thermistor is Item #9. It goes into the left side of the manifold in the to place, between the first two manifold bolts.
Error code e03
This is a code for a thermal fuse open. A thermal fuse is a saftey device I always call a wax switch, It's a switch held closed by wax and if it get's too hot the wax melts and the switch opens shuting the heater down.
Changing this out will not fix the problem. It's job is to keep the heat source from hurting the heater. In other words you have fire backing up into the heater outside the fire box. This can be a fan problem or sometyhing as bad as a broken firebox. You will probally need to get a repairman involved at least to find the problem. Good luck.
How do you start the heater for the first time in
Make sure all gas is on to the heater and the gas valve inside the heater. Be sure all winterize plugs are in place and tight then make sure all valves are letting flow to the heater. If the heater won't start at this point be sure you have enough gas if it is LP. You need at least 30% in the tanks to get the heater to fire. Then you will have a shut off valve just outside the heater. Shut this off and you will fine a union near this, crack the union open and turn the gas back on for a few seconds till you smell gas then shut off and tighten the union back up. let it sit for 15 or 20 min. to let the gas clear then try again. If it still won't start it may be time for a repairman. I hope this helps, good luck.
Heater shuts off at 92 then cyles on and off every
This is a water flow problem. Check your baskets and your filter. Also check to see if you have a by-pass and make sure it is almost all the way closed. If these don't help you have a internal by-pass in the heater manifold and this will probally have to be replaced.
Can we install an indoor thermostat for this
There are aftermarket controls made to allow for remote operation of your heater along with the rest of your pool equipment. Jandy's aqualink system and Haywards Goldline to name two. You may want a professional opinon from a local pool store because these systems can be costly.
You could try to set up your own with a thermostat and thermistor but you would need to be well versed in installing these items as well as running remote wiring which is beyond most technicians or homeowners' abilities.
