I had the same problem with my Sta-Rite 333 heater. It would light for 5 seconds and then shut off with no error codes. I replaced the igniter and the problem was solved.

I am having the exact same problem. Same codes flashing. If you solved it let me know. I had just replaced the thermistor and Stack flu sensor and it was running fine. Previously it would read 126 and not fire, so I changed those 2 items and it ran fine for the last month. When I go out tonight 2/24/22 and the panel is lit up and reading a code. I shut everything off at the circuit. Flip it all back on and it gives all those codes. It will fire and start heating when I switch valves for proper pressure but doesn't let you adjust temp on the panel and just reads a code and won't shut off. Any help in troubleshooting. Thanks.

Check for voltage and current on the igniter. Might need to replace the igniter.

"LO" means lock out. This means that the heater has failed to fire, and will not attempt to do so again until it is turned off and back on. Either the heater is getting no gas, the gas valve is not opening for any of several reasons, the signal to spark is not being sent to the ignitor, the ignitor has failed, or the heater is failing to detect that the burner has been lit. Best to get a tech on it.

If the temp reads 144, the heater will not fire because it thinks the water is 144 ... entirely too hot and way beyond the safety limit of this heater.

I believe your trouble is in the thermostat sending unit.

Let me know what happens when you check this sensor.

Look on the panel of the heater, does it say service heater or service system? It sounds like you might have a dirty filter.

This is a problem with your thermister (heat sensor) You will find this on the left side of the water manifold about half way down. I'm not sure but I think it is a small tube that slides into the manifold and if you follow the wires back to the board it just plugs in. The part is reasonable priced for a heater part and very easy to install. Good luck.

This issuesounds tricky. I recommend you call the Sta Rite technical support at888-782-7483 and they should be able to help you figure this issue out. I hopethis helps.

It is possible there is no gas pressure or the gas pipe contains more air than gas. There is a port with a plug in it close to where the gas enters the valve body. If you carefully loosen to plug a small amount of gas will leak out if there is gas pressure. Make sure you don't screw the plug all the way out or you may loose it. If there is no pressure then you know that a valve is turned off upstream of the heater somewhere. If there is gas pressure then when the gas valve is energized you should be able to hear gas or air coming through. If you hear this gas and the ignitor is not able to light it then either there is something wrong with the ignitor or the gas has too much air in it. Another possible problem is if there is dirt or rust in the gas line it could clog parts of the system like the a regulator, valve or orifaces. I hope this helps.
